89 3.0 to chevy 350 swap
I found a guy with a chevy 350 out of a suburban. he had it in his 85 yota but now is selling the engine due to rust. it comes with engine and yota 5spd tran already hooked up. What am I to expect if I was to do the swap other than motor mounts? again its going to a 89 yota pickup 3.0 stock except 31 inch tires.

sounds good. I have 90% of that stuff. am I able to keep my rad in same spot. and motor mounts. its gonna need that right? IFS was a big concern for me if it was going to clear. 300 bones is a pretty price for a oil pan.

Yes, you will need motor mounts. The chevy motor will not bolt up where the Toyota motor was
You might be able to keep the rad in the stock location if you go with a electric fan, short water pump and all the matching pulleys.

So i'm guessing I'm gonna have to chop the drive shafts? I'm planning on motor mounts and oil pan and slapping the engine in. Considering it came out of a Yota lots of parts should be ready.

go ahead n do it then let us know how it goes, I'm olmost in the same boat, 350/350/205, one guy was doing this set up, but I lost his tracks. I heard that an easy/unexpensive way to clear the oil pan is to add B/J spacers. =1.5" /crank the torsion bars = 1"/and drop the differential,= 1", and to clear the distributor You will need some b/lift + a good hammer, remember the more you push the engine back the more space to set the radiator. don't worry about lifting the truck, that will make your work easier. once everything is set n ready you can go back and lower it untill you clear all exesses and feel happy. salud.
