I read some reviews about Jim Allen's book "Four Wheeler's Bible" and I was wondering if this was still the book that you guys would recommend. I'd like something (of course ideally TOY focused) that really talks about fundamentals, picking lines, and especially works on winch technique. Any advice appreciated!

As for the book i would just get out and wheel. You can read as much as you want but getting out and doing it is gonna be the best way to learn

I agree nothing like experience for learning. Still, a good book can sometimes be a good idea, especially for winch technique, I'd rather be studied up than try rigging my snatch block wrong and end up ripping off some limbs. I'm pretty attached to them at this point ha! get it? Attached to...sorry...bad joke!

Yeah i see how the book could be beneficial.. I dont know of any good ones. I still think you should get out with someone who knows what their doing and get some hands on experience

 

I have that book and its great. Full of very good info.

I also have 4-Wheel Freedom: The Art of Off-Road Driving by Brad DeLong - also packed full of very good info.
