Everyday Carry (EDC) stuff I keep in/on my truck. I also have a CB installed. You guys keep anything different? Anything more? Talk to me.

- 2.5lb fire extinguisher
- Extra gas & extra water (RotoPax)
- First aid kit
- HiLift jack
- Shovel
- Extra tools (including a large knife)
- Flashlight
- Jumper cables
- Recovery rope
- Leather gloves

:-)

I just see pavement with my 2WD, but I keep a First Aid kit, a set of jumper cables, basic wrenches, ratchets, and sockets; a flashlight, a pair of gloves, a basic recovery strap and the factory tool kit with bottle jack.

I have only used the jumper cables when helping other people.

I am sure serious off-roaders will have more, especially in the recovery and emergency gear department.

I got those items on me too. Forgot to mention them. And synthetic shackles to go with the recovery strap. Original post now edited to add them.

If it's not a K-Bar, it's not a "large knife"

I carry what's on your list, except the Hi-Lift. I do have a decent hydraulic jack, though.
I also carry a set of belts, hoses, wires, dist cap and rotor, plugs, etc.
Every spring I give it a tune up, replace what's installed with new, and put the removed parts in my kit. Throw the previous ones away. Saved me a couple times!

Have fun, all!

I’m looking to upgrade a few things in my setup and I’m trying to focus more on quality over quantity. What’s one item in your EDC that has held up for years, maybe even outlived the stuff you bought after it? Could be a knife, multitool, flashlight, pen or anything you carry that’s basically buy-it-for-life without even meaning to be.
