what springs do i run for sas swap with a v8 motor??

im doing a 302 swap in my 87 toyota but straight axle swap as well. i heard from some people to run the tg 5'' hd springs in front. is there anything better than this or what should i use? i'm wanting to run 38's for tire size

5" HDs should be exactly what you need.

You dont NEED anything. But Advance adapters claims that a 2 inch body lift is manditory for firewall clearence.

That can always be solved by running the whole drivetrain lower, or modifying the firewall.

Since your doing a SAS you can weld in motor mounts and place the motor and trans almost anywhere you want.
My buddy stuffed a TBI 4.3 Vortec under the hood of his 85 4runner. He didnt have to modify any sheetmetal.

What size tire will you be running?
Street or trail rig?
Im only asking because people will run huge tires without regearing after a v8 swap, so you might be overgeared, but thats not always a bad thing

Sorry i dont know crap about birfs.

I had a 94 pickup with a chevy 305 TBI, 700r4, np208, SAS with TG 5"HD springs, 5150s all around, 3" body and 36" TSLs. It was nose heavy and the front springs still felt really soft. When i hit the brakes for a stop sighn or what ever it would hit the bump stops. I welded the front hanger flush and my shackle angle was too much, it hit the body mount. I would def weld the hanger farther forward. Im not sure the weight differance between ford and chevy small blocks either tho. Hope this helps.

ok thanks. ya im plannin on gettin the tg 5'' springs and probably a 2 in body lift. but im gonna put at least 36's under it. im hopin to put 37's or 38's boggers. but the inner axles are still stock. so just gotta get some dirty 30's or the longfields. ill take pictures once i get everything and start the build up
