TG SAS axle location

Howdy! First post here, spent some time on 4x4wire but that place is as good as dead. Il be doin my SAS on my 88 truck with the 4" trail gear kit and wanted to know if the axle will remain in the stock location or if they made the kit to move it forward an inch or 2? Would hate to have the tires (runnin 35s for now) rubbing on the back side of the wheel well and having to get out the grinder and hammer yet again. Pics and measurements would be awesome.

Also, picked up some 63" chevys. Il probably toss the overloads. What are your opinions on the flex factor?

You can locate the position of the axle yourself depending on where you weld the front hanger in relation to the front crossmemeber. I believe with the 4" springs most people mount it flush.

Why don't you go to the TG website. I'm pretty sure they have the instructions posted. They also have a forum.

I can't help you with the 63" chevies. I don't put chevy parts on my Toyota. LOL. Only thing I know is that I think you still have to run a small block with the chevies. Any block is a bad idea in my opinion.

I did the 4" sas kit on my 4runner.

Now it has a v6 so i mounted the hangar 3/4" forward and it did move my axle a little bit forward.. I haven't been close to rubbing on the firewall, it only rubs on the front bumper under flex.

My suggestion would be as the 2nd poster...go read the installation instructions on their website. It is all explained there.

Yeah i've read the instructions. It doesnt state anything about axle location in relation to stock. Just they recommend mounting the front hanger 3/4" forward for V6's. I may just do that and see where im at with shackle angle and clearance...

Your front axle will be 1-2" forward depending on how you mount everything according to the instructions.

63" Chevys are great, flex is amazing with the right shock setup, ride is even better. I'm running 2001 Chevy 1500 63" springs 2 leaves + OL, got about 4" lift out of them with no block.

To match your TG 4" up front, you'll probably end up running a 2" block to keep things level.
