Taking stuff off 85 axle....

Okay, forgive me. I'm trying to disassemble my 85 axle. I can't figure out how to get the ˟˟˟˟˟˟˟ hubs and brake rotors off! I've already got the wheel bearings out of one side, but I'm sure that wasn't required to pop off the brake rotors.

Basically I'm trying to get almost everything off it so I can clean/paint and prep for new schtuffs.

I should've clarified, there are no hubs on there (i.e. manual...I bought some from you, remember? hehehe)

The one side, for some reason there's a metal piece sticking out of one of the 54mm nuts. I've got to shave it just a tad before I can get the socket over it for removal. Meh, I just gotta get out there and get dirty I guess.

unbolt the cover\dial on the lockout hub, remove clip from end of axle stub, unbolt hub, remove outer wheel bearing, pull hub\rotor assembly off of spindle. if its hard to remove, its possible the inner bearing race seized or got stuck on the spindle, just pull hard.

You REALLY need to find a axle rebuild write up before you cause yourself some undo headache.

That is the star washer tabs bend them flat.

agreed with wabbit you really need to find a writeup because you can screw something up real fast if you don't know what your doing. The hardest part for me was getting those dang cone washers loose on the hubs the rest was pretty easy. what your looking at is the the flange between the two lock nuts then you take off your spindle then after that you take the axles out. but please find a thread and deffinetly don't be afraid to get dirty thats the fun part hahaha
