supra LSD longevity

Ive read there fairly common lsd diffs for strength and availability. Considering putting one up front when I sas. Checking to see if anyone here has experience running them with large tires. Also, do the 8" lsd's fit the 4cyl truck axles?

The Supra LSD will not work in a SAS. It will only work in an IFS front for a 2nd or 3rd gen p/u or 1st or 2nd gen 4Runner.

to answer your question about the supra lsd diff strength, they can support mega HP with a modified supra engine.
look up a supra website they can go as high as 1000 to 1400 HP iirc.

love to have a 2jzgte, but how can you support it with a running gear in a 4wd application?

Well this guys shows how to. I've read write ups on using it many times.

Were you talking about the whole differential housing maybe? The Supras are not of a drop out design, they are designed like a D44 more or less.

Hey Steve, I ran a supra LSD on 35" tires. It didnt work for me. It performed no better than an open dif.

Lsd won't get you what you need for traction off road. This is of course assuming you want it for off road purposes. What you need offroad is power to all the tires all the time. a lsd doesn't accomplish that. Save some pennies and buy a selectable locker.

This video does a good explanation. Despite the accent and boring vehicles and simple terrain it gets the point across. The green "prada" has a lsd. Silver has factory electronic traction control, and white has arbs.

As for strength, guys run 5-600 hp through these rear ends roasting off tires and racing.
