I've got an 86 yota and I wanna do the straight axle swap. What parts will I need to do the swap?

 

That list is too long to list...I have an 86 too, and just bought my axle one month ago. I have done A LOT of research and its endless it seems. I decided to do it in steps to avoid missing something. In a nut shell its going to take a IFS eliminator kit from trail gear, a solid axle built and ready to go with same gears to match the rear, and a lift kit for rear to match the new lifted front, a lot of money, a lot of time.

 

Sounds like a pain the ass! Might just be easier and cheaper to sell my 86 and buy an 85

 

If you can find one.....If yours is EFI then keep it. 85 and older rigs need your steering box for high steer. Is yours ext cab? Long bed?

 

No, mines just the standard cab short box
