Dude, JB! The truck is looking sick! I'm still waiting to get my parts back from the machine shop. You weren't kidding when you said he's slower than molasses in winter....

Thanks man. She's almost done, just chasing down that damn rich AFR gremlin...
Yeah, just keep on him about the machine work, politely of course,
just You'll be very happy when you turn that motor over and it doesn't even vibrate under WOT pulls...

Finally Driving like it should!

After all of my tinkering today and like $70 bucks later for a new starter, even tried to rebuild the damn thing, but solenoid was shot. She finally runs like she should, the motor is running perfect now. Drove it with confidence this evening and it felt so good, other than the scary soft suspension and no sway bar, this truck picks up and pulls HARD! like I've never felt and it can smoke those 33's on command, even with 4.10:1 RP.

Still need to get the shocks charged to 180psi with Nitrogen, bleed the mushy brakes and that is the end of being broken for this beast, time to play now. Just in time for my road trip to Portland to test this bad boy out.

To all the kind words and helpful thoughts, thank you. Hope you enjoyed watching this build, as tedious as it has been, moreover a GREAT learning experience for me and fun to document.

WORST HACK JOB EVER!

HOOD SCOOP COMING!
Finally can close the hood and look like a Runner and not under construction!

Check out the Mustang AWD Dyno on the bottom I'll be on that bad boy shortly...peace

Definitely, and unfortunately contingent on capital, which is minimal currently.

That thing has been broken for quite a while, just clear plastic tape over it...
It looks fine at night

But what about the high-water line Inside the right one? lol

Fantastic Build by the way!! I've been following for a while. Someday I'd like to have the time, capital and tools to be able to do something like this!!

Nice Job and keep the shiny side up!!

So I didn't get to any flex shots before it got darktomorrow on lunch, I found this sweet loading dock...
But I did find that my Front driveshaft, which is an IFS CV, is severely inadequate. The shaft will bind under full droop, with the yokes up, even after the clearance mod and with like only an 1-1/2" of slip shaft engagement!
Throttle@full droop=SNAP!
None the less i was curious as to what anyone thinks about machining out this portion outside of the green line, on both sides of the yoke symmetrically, to allow the u-joint to droop just a little further so it won't bind anymore?

Is it worth a few more degrees of droop and saving shy of $1K for a new drive shaft! late night thoughts from yours truly, Thanks!

It would probably weaken the Yoke itself, but that is cheaper than a whole shaft. I will work for some time.

Thank you I didn't want the truck too tall and coilsovers were definitely the only way to get a nice low, flexy suspension, on a relatively daily driven vehicle

Crafthorse, that sounds about what I was hoping for, I too, think it will work for a little bit... cool, thanks.

Pics as promised. This is first attempt up the dock in 2wd.

Only got a couple more inches up the ramp in this photo, but I got 30" under the front driver side wheel, and the rest of the suspension still has a good couple inches of travel, both for full droop and compression.

hey on that front drivline, your talking about how the cv doesnt have enough play, as in droop whatever well i used a jeep cherokee cadon joint ( cv whatever) DL in my runner and it works good i had to drill the holes a little bigger to fit the yota 4 bolt pattern. hope this helps and sweet rig!
