It's not hardly worth the time and effort anymore with so many proven ready to build set ups out there. For 1000 bucks you can get everything you need including shocks minus the axle of course. If if you do your own hanger, hoops, and shackles your still going to need springs, shocks, steering, brakes, ect. If your trying to build it yourself to save money then don't bother because just doing a solid axle on the cheap is like having a gorgeous woman standing in front of you and only having her take off her sock. There's still a lot more to do to make it worth it IMO. With that said if your a master fabricator and have some mad metal skills go for it. Pirate 4X4 is mostly a board about fabrication and build ups.

Punctuation?

If you can fab a link set up, cool.

Leafs are stupid easy. Kits make it easier.

Good luck.

Unless you are EXTREMELY skilled, please don't do this. As was already mentioned, it's cheaper these days to buy than build. I've built a few SAS kits, and I can no longer even touch the prices from Marlin, All-Pro, ORS, SKY, FRORF, or the people who steal from the above...
