VERY NICE WORK

what happened when you ran the u joint shaft like this?i noticed u pointed the pinion up but ran just 2 u joints.i will have about the same lift in the rear when finished and was wondering if i should point the pinion up and run a lengthened front cv shaft or if i could get away with the u joint shaft.

Hello,

The drive shaft in the picture is the stock one, only used for setting the angle.

I found a 3rd Gen 4Runner in a yard here (The 3rd Gens were never sold in Spain) and I took the rear DS from it. It's a CV and the lenght was almost perfect. Had to shorten it a little when I did the auto conversion.

Ah, and I found a high pinion E-Locker out from a 80 Series Land Cruiser for the front hehehe

My stock birfs won't be lasting very long...

I ran my SAS'd truck like that for a few days (after the SAS and rear leaf swap) until I got my CV shaft made.

It vibrated my teeth like crazy but worked. No way in hell I could go over 50 mph with it like that.

Hello, a bit of refreshing.

This is some of the stupid things we've to do in Spain to legalize my truck.

Obviously that bar will come off once I legalize the truck.

Fender flares and mud flaps

Aiurbag supports

Cheers,

David

maybe i missed something but what are the airbags for?
i was also looking at your custom xmember and was wondering if you dropped your driveline down for better shaft angles.

Hello,

The airbags are for the rear axle. With dual fuel tanks, rear wheel carrier, the bumper and all the things you take on long trips would help a lot.

I've not dropped the driveline, made custom crossmembers for the auto tranny (My truck was manual) and for the gas tank (Someone went crazy with the plasma and cut the stock hanger). Now I can put a UHMWPE skid and cover the tranny and the stock fuel tank+exhaust.

Hello,

Today we took the pics for the legalization project. This means the truck has fender flares, mudflaps and that stupid rear bar...

And the rear airbags mounted and working. They are amazing, the rear lifts 6-8'' when airing the airbags

Hello,

I've the air bags system working and it's very nice.

The TG ki8t is good quality, I only have compliments about the long slip yoke being bad machined (Off-centered).

Will post pics as soon as I can.

Hello,

Time for new pictures...

Put the rear airbags inflation nozzle in the back of one rockslider. I'll be putting an in-cab inflation system in a future.

At 14.5 psi they are already lifting the back

I relocated the winch solenoid pack over the frame in the passenger side

Installed a CB speaker as I put the CB in a double DIN center console (My truck had a single DIN console from stock)

Also installed a mirror with lights in. European 4Runners didn't have those lights... Swapped them to 4x3 LED panels

The CB installed below the computer touchscreen

Console for the auto gear stick

Installed a Warn power interrupt kit for the winch

Made a sandwich plate for the bracket I made to support it

The rear airbags at 29psi

Look at the shackle angle hahaha

And put the winch plug in the bumper. Also wired the in-cab control

See you,

David

Update:

Threaded 4 holes in the rear bumper

To put a pair of plastic discs I made in the lathe

This is their use

The latch

I've to finish the fender flares over the bumper

Not my spare hehe

This is the license plate holder I made using one of a Toyota LJ70

The rear part. It's bolted to the wheel

With a borrowed spare the holder is separated but not with my spare

With lights

Made two reinforcements

With my wheel

And with a 35

Made two nuts than can be undone with the hands

And also took it out to flex it.

The only remaining thing is install the front HP E-Locker.

Hope you like it

David

Sweet rig!@! Just one question, where did you get those projector headlights? I would love something like those, but there is such a crappy selection for 2nd gen Runners here in the US
Thanks

Hello,

I've to run the flares if I don't want to get ticketed... Also they prevent the truck to get dirty with a little of water on the road hehe

The projector headlights were custom, they're from Hella, I made the supports for them and I've to smooth the grill over them.
