my 2wd to 4wd 1986 toyota exta cab turbo build thread!

so i picked up a 2wd turbo truck that sat for years. i got her runnin now its time to get her off the ground a little! im going with an 85 front axle ifs rear, w-56 trans and top shift t-case. im planning on doing a 3-4 inch lift but i might go with 5. im a very picture happy person usually so ill take as many as i can!!!!
i already trashed the bed! and it had its first flex of its life!!!!

sounds like a cool build.
I did a 5" lift on mine, I would suggest you go lower and trim if you need some tire clearance...

this is my old 88 extra cab i built 3 inch fronts and saggy fives in the rear so like 4 inch lift ide say, 35 inch tires no trimming. i want it to be this size.

just pulled all the carpet out its sat for three years with the window down. thing smelled very bad so im gonna take thee carpet down to the car wash!

Why not just swap the turbo motor into the 85 4x4.

its not an extra cab, i want to make a lil 2wd truck come to life on some 35s and i think i like work? idk lol.

ive been spending all day pulling the dash apart to clean every thing and i also put a sweet little altimeter in the dash!
this thing was so nasty i didnt even wanna sit in it to try and start it when i was getin it runnin. before and after pics of interior soon .....

What about putting the 2wd cab on the 85 frame. Might have overall length issues with the longer cab but the mounting pads might line up. I totally understand why you want the extra cab though.
