Help! SAS spring size question...

Help! Front spring question...
I have a 90 pickup ext cab with the 3.0 v6. I am doin a SAS here pretty soon and wanted to know if I should go with the HD springs since it is a 3.0 v6 If I don't want the springs to settle too much and lose ride height? Or do the regular springs hold up pretty well with the 3.0 since it is not that heavy for a v6?

I would run the HD springs, they will settle but it'll take a little longer. I'm running reguler springs on the front of my crawler and they are already settled after about 7 or 8 runs now my 87 4runner with a 3.4 sits stink bug.

If you run the "trailcrap" springs you might better go with HD and a replacement plan. My buddy has an old set of 4" allpro that have been run for years that are now supporting a 3.0, he stripped his old '81 to build an '88 4rnr. He even bent a spring running no bump stops years ago, you can notice it in one of the pics. I've watch him beat on them.

I'm running 4" but have a 22RE. You could always go up to 5" springs if your that worried.

i have to disagree there wabbit. just because i have 4 in. tg springs and a perfect shackle angle and they were a little soft. i hammered the bumps all the time. i added a leaf and some more progressive bumps and its fine now. the springs were just a tad soft for my aplication and adding the leaf helped more than i can say. by the way hows the taco project coming
