Gen1 4runner sas w/sky hanger kit

i have been searching around for anyone that is running the sky hanger kit on the front of their gen1 4runner??? it was originally for my gen2 runner but that one got written off last month,so im starting with a new platform. it will be running a pair of 44044's up front, with an undecided rear setup. any info would be awesome!!!

thanx

I plan to run that same setup Sky hanger, 44044s in front and 63" GM rears in an '86 4R. Once the economy turns around that is. It seems like it should be a good setup. I think that the hanger may require some bending or the springs require some trimming of the bushings to fit because of the 44044 and Toy spring width difference, but I've been told it's not a big deal.

Awesome! thanks LTrunner and Toyotero. i will definitley be watching these build ups.LTrunner i see you are currently running the chevies in the rear, but switching up to the f-150's.i have been thinking of going chevies after seeing my roomates gen2 4runner flex large, but wonder about how the gen1 will react once the top is off?? i am very interested in the f-150 spring swap aswell but have yet to find enough info.. Toyotero im thinking the bushing shave might be the best route.that sky hanger is beef, it will take a bit to bend out the mount.another good thing with the trimming the bushing is if i wreck one, new ones are cheap.

finally posting some pics of progress.just waiting to finish the jeep build and the 4runner will be going under the knife.pretty much standard issue: locked front, welded rear,37x14 Iroks,tg 5" rear leafs, dirty 30's,4.10's for now, 4.7 for the t/case,44044's for the front but thinking of swapping main leaf with a stock rear from the truck for stretch while having the hanger mounted flush.

lock-right installed and everything torqued to spec

dirty 30's some grease and together

passenger-side minus the hub and caliper

almost ready to go just need calipers installed

When running the Sky hanger, make sure you box the lower portion of the C channel in. I have seen several that collapsed when they hit a rock. I really wish Sky would do this as its been a pretty widely known problem with their hanger.

ran into a little bit of a snag.from what i gathered i got a front axle with landcruiser outers.the p.o. has not got back to me yet and im wondering.i bought v6 calipers, landcruiser rotors, and wheelbearings.i went to install the hub when i came fast to find it wont go all the way in.it leaves me to wonder if the hub/rotor assembly is from a landcruiser and needs the matching bearings to mate to the landcruiser spindle.the caliper will not fit on whatsoever iv gone through 3 set of calipers to see what will fit but no dice.if you guys have any info i would love to know.

im quite astonished by the improvement over stock.got some death wobble at anything more then 40 km/h.needs an alignment and that square shaft in. it does need the 5.29's and i have now aquired a v6 diff.the only problem now is do i attemp to to the gears myself or pay to get them done.last i was quoted $1000 for both ends done with a spool and lock-right just as 3rds.
