Well after a year of wheeling the truck with lots of steering and alingment problems I am doing a SAS.

I have got a 93 4Runner SR5 V6 5spd. I have a SFA out of a 83, TG 3" SAS kit, regearing to 4.88 and will be runnig 33's. On the rear I will be making custom links and running OME 80 Series springs. I'm mainly making the truck for exploration and camping.

Here is the progress thus far.




OEM V6 4.88 3rd (for the front)



Housing sand blasted and all gusets tacked into place.




One knuckle ready for paint and reasebly.



Thats it for now, I will be finish welding the housing tomorrow night and then painting it with POR-15. I hope to have most of the axle back together Saturday.

All the IFS stuff is getting cut off on the 12th and hope to be driving it on the 17th.

Last thing I need to sort out is front drive shaft any ideas? I was going ot get my stock IFS one moded (double cardon and lenth) any one know if that will work? Do I need a longer slip yoke?

Sweet! 2door runner with a SFA. I am interested how its going to turn out with the 3" sas kit. You have a 2" body lift right?

 

Thanks man, the BL will be coming out I have no need for it after the SAS. It will be nice to see a 2nd gen 2dr SFA 4runner, do not see those around much.

The axle is all rebuilt and back togeather. I have at Plazma cutter lined up for the weekend and all the IFS is getting cut out.

looking good. Once you get it done we'll have to go wheelin and test it. Hopefully my truck will be done by then too.

Yeah its 90% done, tomorrow I just need to finish weld the shock hoops, bumpstops and brake line tabs.

So it took me 3 days to do mostley by myself. I did have some help on the strutural welding and a hand moving some of the parts into place.

I'm suprised how easy this has been.

I will try and get pictures up tomorrow.

Sorry guys, no pictures till I get the rear end all sorted out. With the OME 862 coils I have only gained 1" of lift and about 6" on the front. The truck looks stupid right now. I'm going to work on gettign the back all sorted out tomorrow and take this damn body lift out. As it sits right now I have 29" from the ground to the bottom of the front spring hanger( cross bar between the spring pearches.

Flex test after SAS.


Oregon trip, day after I got the rear leaf swap done I went on this 3000km round trip.




A 400km off road trip here in BC.





Random.


So far I have put on over 4000kms and had no issues at all. I acheaved what I wanted when I started and have truck I can take out and not have to spend $$ after each trip.

Next mods are front Warn bumper and custome rear with tire swing out.

Lookin good! Looks like your truck ended up being level front/rear. Assuming you used the 4" rear since you have the 3" up front. You just using the 5" shackles that came with the kit?

 

No kit in the rear I ended up using Chevy 63" springs off a 3/4 ton 4x4 with 2.5" blocks. It rides like a caddy cant belive how smooth it is. I'm going to work a bit more on the rear shocks and get the leafs re arced.

How the truck lately?

 

Been off the road for 16 months, had problems with the ride height and shocks in the back. Since then I have lowered the back 3" and the front about the same. I am just about to order OME springs for the front as I am sick of the TG . I'm getting the heavy load OME front springs for a 84-85 4runner with the ad on HD leaf. I figure that with the weight of the v6 and the ARB bumper and winch it should work out well. I'm also getting the OME shackles that measure 3.5" hole to hole to aide in the lowering. I am also going to swap out the 12" travel shocks for some 10" ones.


In the rear I will remove the AAL and that should level it all out. I also have a rear bumper half done that I need to finish and about 30 other small things.

Its going back to daily driver duty so it needs to be perfect.

Thanks, it works. I am lowering it about 3" all round and installing an ARB Air locker in place of the lock-rite. I also need to finish installing the winch and building the rear bumper/tire carrier. Will also be welding on my rock sliders and fitting a hi pinion front diff.

I'll post more pictures when done.
