86 4Runner wants a SAS

Hey all hows it going? I have been driving my trusty 86 IFS 4runner for 7 years now and I have always wanted a straight axle up front and to turn it into a trail worthy rig. I have finally convinced my wife and have come into a decent tax return but I don't have access to fabricating tools or the knowledge to do it. Do you guys have any suggestions for me? I live In the Fayetteville North Carolina area and am in the military so I have no time to myself. Anyway I know there is one 4 wheel drive shop in town but all Ive heard are horror stories about their prices. Does anyone know of a shop or an individual within North Carolina or the surrounding area that would help me out with my quest for SAS and not bend me over? Also anyone have a front axle or know where to get one? I appreciate any help yall can give. Thanks.

Sometimes its not the always the best to try and find the cheap route, Sas is something that should be done by someone trustworthy, and do you already know what axle your gonna run in it?

I totally agree I want someone that I can trust doing the conversion. Thats why I am posting here. Hoping someone on here would know where to go or who to talk to in my area. I definitely don't what to go to some random shop that has never worked on a Toyota or done a SAS. I am willing to spend the money if I know its done right and is a fair price. I was planning on getting a Toyota axle and use the trail gear IFS elimination kit.

im over in charlotte and on craigslist there is a complete front axle from an 85 for 250$. buy that. ive gotten some work done by 4Wheel Parts. their techs are really knowledgeable and wont jerk you around with price. I got my front locker installed there, they had a guy who drives a toyota work on mine as opposed to the jeep and chevy guys. it took them a little longer than expected but the guy knew i had a dead line to meet so he invited me up there and we stayed after hours till he got it done. didnt charge me a single hour extra labor.
so they get my vote.
