Here is where I need an opinion or two.
I am using stock shackles with TG 3" leafs. How do the angles look?
I haven't tacked the bumper yet. As it sits in these pictures, the front hanger is sitting about 1/8 inch inside.
Any and all feedback is welcome....

This one looks like the shackle is touching the frame... just a bad angle from the camera. Actually has about 1/4 inch before touching the spring to the frame.

I thought that was compressed? It was completely off of the driver side jack stand in the last picture. Unless the passenger side jack stand is holding a little weight?

Thanks.... I am sure a little questionable about it. I moved the hanger in to about 1/2 inch and that seemed to help a little but I think that is moved in to much. I certainly don't wanna have any clearence problems with the steering..
I'll put the axle under it in the a.m. if the rain doesn't come in too early.

The pictures with it under weight didn't load up for me the first time. The angles look good to me. I noticed on mine that the shackles settled a little farther back when everything was in and I drove it compared to how they looked when I compressed them with the floor jack so keep that in mind. Did you install the Half inch spacer on the driver side spring perch?

Post lots of pic's of the fabricated ARB bumper, please and thank-you!

According to your experience, I probably shouldn't move the front hanger back any more... I moved it in to about 1/4 in. to 3/8 last night just to look at the angle difference.
Not that significant, so I will probably go with what has been shown here.
By the way, are you running 3" spgs?
Thanks....

Yep, me to. I am not real sure about the future of ARB.... may come out looking like a gremlin spoiler.....ha!

Ya, I wouldn't be moving the hanger any further back either. Im running the 5" springs. I wouldn't put the spring pad spacer on there either if I were you. According to my personal experience and a few other guys I have talked to with on here it is not needed and makes the driver side sit higher. I had to put another spacer on my passenger side to level the front out since it was sitting 1/2" lover than the driver. Just my .02

I am hoping the spring pad doesn't kick me in the NUTZ as far as height, but if it does I will let you know. I mean, afterall, what's a little more torqueing and grinding...

I have decided to mount the hanger flush and see how much these springs "settle". I keep reading (your post & others) that they settle anywhere from 1/2" - 1".
If they settle 1/2" i will be sitting nice...

I am debating what kind of set up to go w/ in the rear. I have sworn on an ARB air locker but I keep hearing/reading good things about the aussie locker. Big difference in $$$$$... that's what is causing my dilemma (I'm a tight wad)
The truck will be a farm/hunting truck as well as a daily driver...
Any thoughts?

Well, got the TG 3in leaf springs mounted w/ the axle (stock shackles). Little to high for my liking.... so, I am waiting on some Ole Man Emu front leaf springs to lower it to my liking.
I'll post some pics later....

One thing... as mentioned, the ride height is to high for what I am trying to accomplish. However, I do have a question about the wheel spacers. My wheels, once installed, have about 1/4 in of stud thread that protrudes through the wheel for the nuts. I am thinking I have some really thick wheels, but they are factory. Is this normal?

Put the bumper back on. Well, partly, I am trying to figure out how to put some more bracing on it due to the front spring hanger placement. I had to cut off some of the support plates to get it to fit.

Well,
Finally got part 1 of 2 packages from MC...

This thing is tiny

Installed the compressor

And finally got the switches wired in and mounted

Installed, after I did a little grinding to make the diff fit inside the housing ... I still have to get the air hose tucked a way a little better...

and a shot from the rear....

waiting on springs, wheels, and the michelins to wear down so I can put some 33's on this thing. I say about 40,000 more miles... or I get an itchy finger and go ahead and buy new tires... probably the later...
