1993 axle swap
I’m wanting to swap a solid axle with 4.10 gears LSD innto my 1993 Toyota pickup. I’m just wondering which axle would be best to do this with and what year and model I can get it from, thank you.

Also it’s is a rwd and I’m building the truck for drifting. I am swapping a K24A2 in the truck, so far I have pulled the motor, trans and driveshaft. My next step is to get the 4.10 gears in the rear. Once motor and the trans is in etc I’m going to run it stock to make sure everything works correctly before I boost it. Eventually I want to do steel tube framing in the rear so I can do a proper suspension. I’m just trying to figure out which axle would be best to swap in for now. Year and model to grab it from

Personally, You need to start with an 8.8 axle from a ford explorer. This will yield disc brakes, 4.10s and limited slip. You're not gonna have as fun trying to drift a truck that's equipped with a pull handle drum E-brake.

you can use any rear axle from a 86-95. It'll be sprung over axle, though. You'll have to weld new perches and do all that jazz.

Another thing to mention, the explorer axle is an offset differently. You can pull one tube off and install another short side on it to center it but it's a bit more involved.
