WATTORA is going to The Dunes again
...and you are invited.
Saturday, September 20th, 2003
Those of you who looked at the photos from last time might remember thousands of acres of sand dunes, with Tacoma's crawling all over them. Many of the attendees took the opportunities to jump their rigs and the rest spent the day refining their sand driving skills and conquering hill climbs made entirely made of sand
We also set up some sand drags along a straight/level stretch and are hoping to do more of that this time.
If you missed it last time, you might want to consider coming this time. Whether you make a day trip of it or stay for the partying Saturday night, this time around is likely to be at least as entertaining as last time.
Details are on the WATTORA website under "Upcoming Events" or CLICK HERE to go directly to the registration page.
It would be great to see some of the 4ROC and YotaTech folks come play with us.

This actually a designated ORV park and is open to ATV's, Sandrails, whatever. It's freaking huge and any damage you leave behind, like, oh, say, tire marks, are erased by the next breeze. There's nothing to burn and it's not mismanaged by the Forest Circus, so I would say the odds are pretty darn low.

Oh god no I wouldn't put you through the "putting a face to me" torture. JK. I am lacking a $20 tow strap, got the front tow hook just need to weld it on,$10 offroading flag,$10 shovel, & a $5 lunch. If the pay day god is good to me and I get it all & all installed im there. Tormorrow is payday god day so I will let you know. Either way i'd like to show up, either to shoot the chit or play in the sand.

So tomorrow will be the first time driving a truck on sand so i was wondering if there was any tips from the veterans. i.e. Maybe wear sandles because sand will get in them anyways or don't because of animals in the sand. Something along those lines. Also do you usually drop your air pressure down for a day of wheeling and how do you deal with getting them back up to road pressure. Thanks and see you guys tomorrow.

When we meet up at the entrance to the park at 11:00, I will be conducting a short drivers meeting and will cover all of those questions and a few more.
There's no wildlife to speak of out there, so don't worry about your toes getting bitten, but I would recommend you wear some shoes you can walk in. You will spend a lot of time going up and down dunes, spotting, checking out the best route, etc.
See you there!
