WATTORA at "The Dunes"
This past Sunday, WATTORA met at the Grant County ORV Park in Eastern Washington for our monthly run for May 2003.
Grant is often refered to as "the Pismo of Washington", for good reason. We set up sand drags on a half mile strip, blasted around and over the dunes, explored the several thousand acre park and even did some jumping
Over twenty WATTORA members came on this run and a good time was had by all.
Photos are starting to roll in the from the run and when the the write-up is complete, it will be on http://www.wattora.com, but in the mean time, I wanted to share a couple of photos from the event that captured the spirit.

There are no photos of my truck flying through the air, it's not really built for the landings.
I spent much of the day showing off what dual lockers and plenty of horsepower could do in the sand instead
It was no where near as dramatic as the launches, but I didn't meet a hill climb I didn't like
I also did really well in the sand drags
Just wait until you see the rest of the pictures and the video

If you liked that, then you are REALLY going to like this...
Please save it to your machine and play it from there to reduce the bandwidth used. If you are like me, you are going to play it over and over and over...
Delphi will automatically cut out at some point when this video gets passed around, so try back if it's down.

You were right, that was a cool vid. Was that your truck in the drag race? I wish I could have joined you guys, those dunes look like a blast.

Hey, hey! Yeah! This was one of the best runs I have even been on in a long time! Thank you, Rob and WATTORA for yet another great event! I look forward to the next one there!
I made a little slide show with some of the pictures. It's about 3.2 megs so you dialup folks beware. It's not a sanctioned WATTORA thing, I just felt like doing it with some software I had never played with before (ignore the opening text, it's bogus!) I hope you enjoy it!

Damn, I missed out on a good run. Unfortunately I had to both work and had duty on Sunday. Oh well perhaps I will have to find my way there sometime this summer since it might be my last summer in WA. Don't know where duty stations will take me next, but I will try to stay in this great state!

Greg, if you are running Media Player 7 like I am, you may need new codex to make it work.
The new player 9 available to XP users takes care of that, but Win 98 users such as myself can't get version 9.
Use these to update version 7 of the Win Media Player.

Get the free version, and the one without it's own player.
PS, Gene, I just watched your presentation.
It rocks!

Those are some GREAT pics! The white Tacoma driver sure knows how to hit it! What kind of suspension and tires does he have? Seems to me after watching a few, he seemed to smoothly accelerate off the bottom of the hill and have good fwd momentum up the hill whereas everyone else's noses dived right into the bottom of the hill which stopped their forward momentum.
In anycase, love those airborne shots. I'm gonna have to make that 2nd pic my wallpaper.

It's the dam house stopping from coming out with you guys.Ok it's Cynthia wanting to get the inside of the house done. I will be at the 101 class coming up. Don't think I'm funny like that but I miss you guys. Plus work is also killing me as well.
40 hours of overtime every two weeks. And the runner is getting close to hitting the old forest service road.
Next mod for the runner is PIAA fog lights and PIAA driving lights.Rob I would also like to people together and do a camping trip soon.
