Wow, BFGs...nice...
Gotta get the dirty so you can see if they rub anywhere.
Also, just confirmed the exit numbers this weekend. The west exit is 42, the east exit is 47. Main road up the mountain is closer to the east exit, however I believe there is more room to regroup and air-down near the west exit.
I should be able to make it on the 15th, although I will be leaving a little early.

Thanks! After the last round of cranking the truck up, the 33's were starting to look a bit too small. With all the lift I have and running with 33's, the truck was starting to look like the trucks you see on the dealer lots with little tiny tires
I AM thinking about a re-gear, but the truck is not nearly as doggy as I thought it was going to be with the 35's, so I am not in panic mode over getting it done. I can see where this combo with a manual tranny would eat through clutches, but with my auto it is still pretty driveable. I am going to commute and wheel it like this for a while and try to assess whether I should be thinking about 4.56 or 4.88 gears. According to all the gear charts, 4.56 would put me pretty close to the ratio I had with the stock 4.10 gears and 31's, so I am leaning that direction.

Jim, I am pretty certain that I will not have any rubbing. I had plenty of room to make the jump, so I don't think I am going to have a problem. But the only way to find out is to go wheel it

No, that's from me bending the rims. I am replacing them one at a time, but that is what it takes to balance them as is...
It looks like the larger sidewall and the wheel protector on the new tires will go a long way toward keeping from bending them so badly in the future.

Hey Rob and Gene....
Anyways, I went to Tahuya with Jowie on I think the pre run, and had a good time, such a good time, I traded my 98 Mitsu GSX for deeper in debt and a 2001 Toyota 4runner, anyways.... that out of the way...
Rob, on this run do you think my stock 4runner would be able to go, I would love to go on its first run, it does have the factory lockers, just nothing really else... its not lifted, it has the running boards, heck it doesnt even have plates yet.
Whatcha think?

This run is gonna be pretty tame...so you should be fine. Only suggestion I can make is to take off the running-boards...they might drag...(is this right - other 4Runner owners?)
Welcome to the "family".

Are you the one with the "sandbag" locker? and had a cyl drop during the run? Made use of Robs' CEL scanner?
Is it hard to remove the running boards..... or put them back on?

Hey Ducky,
Welcome! Glad to hear there will be another newbie on the trip- I have a pretty stock rig at the moment as well, so we'll get through this together! Anyways, the running boards are pretty easy to remove, just a matter of taking off a few bolts (I think 13 mm bolts on my 98?). No big deal- unless you've got some corrosion on the bolts- which allowed me to strip the head of one and made me postpone the removal for a couple days.

I will be in the area that weekend, but my runner wont. My rear axle is pretty bad and I wont get the leaf swap done till the end of the month
