[WA] Evan's Creek 06.12.2004

So this was a run that looked like it was gonna have 8 trucks out. But, half of those folks came up with other plans, so it ended up being 4 of us going out.

We had fun in tthe MUD, and there was FUN STUFF, and there was MUD, and there was GOOD PEOPLE, and there was MUD, and there was WAY COOL SCENERY, and there was MUD...

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pics:

A great time was had by all - it was great to meet Kyle (a friend of Ben's) and his Misses. No body damage this trip, a couple of airborne launches off of small hills, and did I mention the mud???

YAY!

(and to top it off... Just 1 year ago today I started wheelin'! )

Because an all-day ride on Sunday makes for a REAAAALLLLLLYYYYYY long Monday.

I was SORE this morning... and TIRED.... and it had nothing to do with being gosh dern old! (well, maybe a bit!)

Ben... I think I know what's up with linking to MontyPics.

My guess is that vBulletin (the forum software here) is trying to protect itself from linking to active pages in an IMG tag. The MontyPics URL is a php script, which if allowed in an IMG tag, it will run the script with the page is displayed. In this case, that's safe since it's just a picture viewer, but there's nothing stopping someone from doing something malicious (or just painful) in a php script and having it be active everytime a page is displayed. So, vB is looking at the URL, seeing it's a php script, and then protecting itself by replacing the IMG tag with a URL tag.

I've tried a couple of things with the link and can't get it to resolve to just the raw binary... I wonder if it's possible anymore with MontyPics? If all of the images are in a database, then you may need to go through a script to get to them.

Lemme play a bit and see if I can get around it.

Got It! (you should see a pic just below this line)

--- pic starts ---

--- pic ends ---

This is what you do...

The URL you were trying to post starts like this:
http://www.montypics.com/pic.php?url...kes/2004-06-13

Chance that portion to be this:
http://pics.montypics.com/bhankes/2004-06-13

Leave the rest of the URL the same, and you're set!

Very nice pics Mark. It was such an incredible day up there. So much fun....and so much mud, hehe!

Ben - for some reason I can't open your pics. I don't know if it's on my end or what, probably is. You are an awesome trail boss. Good job!

Mark - you'll get my pics tomorrow or Tuesday. I'll let you decide if you want to post all 54 of them. I hope you don't mind adding them to yours.

I seem to have quite the collection of Shane flexing, along with some beautiful scenery and other fun stuff!

I'll post what you send girl!

When you say that you can't open Ben's pics, can you see a pic of me knicking that tree in the message just above yours? If so, that's one of Ben's pics - if not, then your end don't like MontyPics for some reason. I wonder if that's why you're having troubles posting yours with them?

Mark, I can see the picture you posted in the thread here, but I can't open Ben's msn link to see more. I tried a couple different ways and they aren't showing for me, pffft!

Knicking that tree? Heh, all I heard was a big fat CLUNK when you hit it!

Thanks for hosting the photos Mark and putting up with me screaming like a girl!

WOW. Thanks for your help Mark! I haven't had a chance to play with it but will.

I posted the pictures to MSN Groups so you could see them (I dislike MSN) but I have had people say they can't open the link I hope to get this Monty thing resolved or I may need Mark to host them.

You're welcome dood!

Shannon: Dunno about the MSN link from Ben. You're using AOL's browser, right? Did you happen to try IE as well? I wonder if AOL is blocking that "msnw" filetype.

But, it may all be for naught... It looks like Ben's a happy camper this morning and able to link from Monty.

Yeah... that AOL browser is a joke - it's so tied down in the land of trying to keep you safe from yourself that it won't let you do anything. Sorry girl.

I know you've got a lot of bookmarks in the AOL side, but if you're ever bored, it'd do you well overall to do what you can to move to anything else and never look at the AOL browser again.

"Good luck".

Hey Guys and Gal (Shannon)

Looks like fun out there.
Sorry I had to bag this run but that day was the only opportunity to work on a few priority items.

I would really like to check out that run again. Ben got you all back in one piece to. Patrick wasn't so lucky. he he

Hey I remember Kyle. Didn't he have red 96/98 Taco. He went with us on the Snow run this year.

We missed you Mike.

I think Kyle had a red 97 but don't quote me.

We can go anytime you want
