Tierra Del Sol (POBRE) 2007
We need to start yet another trip planning thread.....TDS is coming March 2-4 2007......

Seth's video from last year

NOTE-- TDS has been moved to Ocotillo Wells. The idea I had is to camp on the north end of the Cross Over Trail. That way we can be 5 minutes from Truckhaven, and about 30 minutes to Ocotillo Wells. Here is a map showing the area. I have the camp highlighted in green.
GPS CORDS--- n33 15 57.7 w116 01 04.9
These will get you into the area we will camp...not the exact spot

I'm in for sure. I have a bit more experience now, so hopefully I won't be the only one doing wheelstands this time!
Oh yeah, don't worry about the $45. We are just using this as a meeting time, we aren't actually participating in any events!

NO WAY JIM! We're putting on our own Saturday Night Spectacle. Mikey and Josh are going to SAS a mid 80's Celica. We're then going to sell it on eBay and use the proceeds to fund Fartruks reconstruction/

Looks like fun. I should be able to make it. I haven't been out since the last time with you guys! I am going out next weekend though (for a little icy desert camping)

I've already sent in my registration packet, and paid up, plus got a few t-shirts and donated to the Blue Ribbon Coalition.
This is my 4th TDS, but with a group of friends, and a bunch of us from work. I'll be going down early Friday the 2nd. So maybe after we get down there and get set up, we'll come and find where you all are. :bigclap:

Hmmmmm.....Ocotillo Wells still has a bunch of stuff that I would like to see and is more centralized as far as Anza and Superstition go.
O-wells is more of my kind of terrain, too.

Truckhaven is one of my favorite places to wheel. I love the softer rolling type of terain. Makes for some good twisty action.
I really hope to be able to make this run, there's tons of people but its always a blast.
As for the $45 dollars. I sure aint rich, but then I never minded if a small chunk of my green went to an organisation that puts on runs like this and fights to keep our areas open and accessable.
You can bet the tree huggers from the conservationists organisation dont cheap out their people when it comes to closing the places we love. This is one way we can give our individual push back.
We discuss this every time there is a fee involved and it still gets my goat.

Zach--just in case you missed the other thread....TDS has been moved to Ocotillo Wells...we are planning our own thang at Truckhaven. You can give me your $45 and I will give you a laundry hamper for your RV.

I've never been to Duckhaven (Let's call it that so the environmentalists don't catch on to us).
I think we shoudl do Truckhaven as long as we can't get in trouble. We're just a bunch of friends with Toyotas, right? Not an organized (orgasmic?) group.
