Tahuya was boring

Well me and a couple of friends wanted to try something different, so we headed for Tahuya. got there aired down my tires and unloaded the other 2 trucks and hit the trails. Damn if any of us needed to air down or even put it into 4x . but we found the new trails that they built and the rocks at the beginning of those trails were pretty cool. And we played around on the one rock pile we found. We were hoping to find some mud but we could'nt seem to find any. . Well maybe next time , but i won't hold my breathe

Larry,

Go back in the spring after about 4 months of rain, and you'll find puddles that will swallow your 4runner. Sorry dude, you just picked the wrong time of year to go to Tahuya, especially after the dry summer we've had.

new section

The new section of trails is alright, it starts in the middle of a clear cut on the south end of the older trail system. And the beginning is pretty hard, they set it up with a couple of rock crawls, there each about 150 feet long and a spotter is needed so not to hang up on the rocks. I have 36" tires and had to try a couple of different lines to make it thru the first time.Talked to one guy out there that could'nt get thru in his sammie and 38's. Also ended up winching out some guy in a full size blazer , on the same rocks. the rest of the trail is so new the weeds are still on the trails, and there are a couple oftight spots. and a killer whoops section with lots of 1' and deeper holes. We were hoping with the rain we had that we would find at least some mud. Think we might try it some time in December. Maybe some one that knows the area alot better then us might want to go next time.. Sorry no pictures . need to buy a camera:cry:

tahuya is badass with mud, but i went there about 3 weeks ago and there wasnt a sign of water within miles. it was ridiculous. i didnt need 4 for anything, but i used 4low because i love the gearing and i have auto hubs. but ya that place with mud is so much more difficult. i cant wait til the spring
