Well, Since Austin called and gave me a guilt trip about coming I think I may try and make it. I won't show up until late Friday night though since I get off work at 5pm. I may just wait and start coming up Saturday morning around 4 or 5am. I'll need to drop my camping crap off and set it in Austins cabin so I don't have to teather it down in the back. my two little punks will be with me, all 15 pounds of them combined.

You guys gotta promise me though, if I bust something you won't leave me there, I can't afford to tow the thing back to Greenville.

Hate to say it guys, but it looks as if I'm gonna have to back out of this trip. I was really looking foward to coming, but I just don't have the funds right now, especially if something breaks. Anyway, ya'll better take some good pics and be safe. I'll be there with you in the spring. Brian, I'll PM you about shipping my shirt.

I'm not sure. remember my clutch slipping and you could smell it while wheeling near you're place? well, last night I was wheeling and heard a funny noise under load while going up an obstacle with Allen Stegall. anyway, I went out to the local trail today to check it out again and the noise is my clutch slipping and frying up really good, then if that didn't beat all the ARB compressor wouldn't shut off and after looking at that I found that somewhere in the cheap blue tubage is a leak, I think just on the rear since the compressor only shut off when I off'd the rear locker. so I gotta get under there and see what happened and find the leak. The clutch, I'm going to have to save up and sell some stuff on eBay to get the parts and then get ahold of WildBill since he's done his already and might open my eyes to a way of using the floor jack to drop the tranny. So point is, I may or may not go. it's hard to decide to limp up there thinking I may break something, then again it's hard to decided not to go altoghether. Tony, I'll give you a call tomorrow after 5pm and give you a yes or no.

So, after blowing my tire on my last trip, I'm going to be wheeling at Tellico this weekend on a smaller tire less aggressive Dueler AT. Yippee! I waited way too long to try to get one, not thinking it was going to be so hard. Revo's are very hard to find, apparently.

At any rate, I wanted to start the final count for tonight, the day before the trip:

Chris (ravencr) & my wife Kristen on her dirtbike
next??

Matt's slack ass let his phone be turned off. He installed his spool a did some donuts in the rain. Now all he needs for his square front d-shaft is another yoke with more play for the t-case. Actually Matt has a "real" part time job and I of course I am looking. He gets off at 12 tomarrow and I still don't have a rear shaft, I guess I'll steal matt's while he works. Other things that need fixed before I leave are CV boot needs to be packed w/ greece and re clamped and reinstall my rear bumper lights.
I think we are rolling out tommarrow at 1, I guess we'll meet at the campground. We have my 97' 4Runner, Emily's '97 4Runner Limited w/locker and Eric is his ' 99Taco.

Joe and I will be leaving Greensboro around 9 or 10 depending on when he can get here, we were up late into the night in the cold and rain getting my sliders on, there's another bitch and moan story for the camp fire for ya. So he's going to do his best to get out on time. I'm about to go out and wire up my CB in the dark(it's almost 1:00 AM), WOOT for working blind.

Austin I got your message but got tied up wth 50 other things, just give me a call sometime tomorrow, if not I'll give you a ring. I don't think Joe and I are going to make lunch, but we'll see how things work out.

C-yall there, J I can't wait to see your rig, I've always admired it, glad to hear your coming, good going Austin.

I need a huge favor from someone, can someone please bring me a cordless drill just in case I can't get mine fully charged before the morning. The CB beat me, I can't figure a way to run it through the firewall without drilling a new hole, maybe after we get a couple more minds and hands on the install it'll be a bit smoother. Bring whatever tools might be helpful in installing a Corba 75, whatever might have been helpful during your own install. I just don't want to be the only one w/o one on Saterday, it's important in a group this big. THANKS IN ADVANCE FELLAS. I'm sure yall will come through.

I ran my cable through the doorway, Bain helped me. Just pinched it in there because I didn't feel like pulling a bunch of crap just to get a bite with the drill bit. So one day I still have to drill a hole and put a grommet in there to run it through, but it works fine the way it is now.

P.S. I won't be making it. it's just not in the cards for me right now.

sorry guys that we didnt show..............

jon was told that my 2nd gen d-shaft along with flange would bolt right up. -- which it DOESNT

he then took the u-joints out of my front shaft -- the #'s and size matched up but they were really tight and when he tried to drive anyway we got about 3 miles before the rear u-joints went out.

then we decided to take my rear 2wd runner, jons front 2wd runner, a tj, and taco down this huge mud trail to camp by the lake

on the trail he then busted a drive axle.

that 3rd pic looks exactly like the powerline trails here in raleigh, i swear i had to do a double take to make sure it wasnt from the local trail i used to run for fun.

I'd say you both need to cough up the $$$ and get some decent driveshaft work done, or buy some joints or used shafts or SOMETHING. i dont have any driveshafts made for my truck, but it doesnt have a motor OR trans/tcase installed so i guess i have an excuse

I did some pretty significant updates to my website, covered what i did while you guys were out goofing off in the woods
