So Cal its time...Marc P's Desert B-Day Bash..Desert Jambo

Ok, Desert season is here...lets plan a big trip!!!

Lets go to Truckhaven or Superstitions the weekend of November 3rd. I want everyone in So Cal and Arizona to come....

This will be a family and kid friendly trip. I will have my 3 year old with me, and I encourage more people to bring thier kids and families.

We have a month to plan, so lets come up with a fun trip.

Either place is fine for built rigs, stockers, and even prerunners....

What do I need to bring? Just normal camping gears?

I'll have to see what's what as the time draws closer. I'd love to make the first wheelin trip of the season. I know Lukie would have fun with all the kids.

Josh that would actually be really cool. A cake would go great with Marcs 7 layer dip and my home made guacamole. We always eat good out there!

I'll bring a 22RE, some extended arms, and some chubby shocks.

You know I'll be there in the mighty Black Pearl, ARGGGGGGHHHH!

Oh man, I knew I should have stayed out of the trip planning section! I may have to try to make this one, sounds like it could be a good one for the wife and kid also. I won't know till it gets closer, kinda depends on how my jobs are scheduled.

I am on call that week but my friend agreed to switch with me. Yeah....

It will be my first time camping out there. I have couple questions:

- Can I take my dog/puppy with me?
- I have camping gear but can we (my kid and I) sleep in the 4Runner or we have to set up our tent?
- What should I bring with me for entertainment as far as football, soccer ball, or anything that for the kids to play.
- What the weather will be like that day durring the morning and at night?

Sorry for the stupid questions from first time camper out in the desert.

I will try to help with the questions and want to welcome you to the Socal group. We always find a way to have a great time!

Dogs are no problem and lots of people bring them.

You can sleep however you want to. Some stay inside the Runners and some throw up a tent(Josh really literally throws his tent ontop of his Runner) Then some also bring campers. So what ever works for you and yours.

The kids seem to find stuff to play with in camp. Some sand toys alway work good and remote control Rock Crawlers have been known to entertain the kids and the adults. Mikey (wifesaysimadumbass) should chime in as he usually brings his crew of youngsters.

The 10 day forecast shows highs in the mid 80's and night lows in the mid 60's so not too bad out there now. Good sleeping temps and comfortable in the daytime also.

My wife and I have done both the tent thing and also layed the back seats down and slept in the Runner. The tent is a bit easier in my opinion.

Usually everyone brings some firewood to help out and some extra food to make it sort of a pot luck kind of thing.

That is not usually a part of this type of trip in the camp site area....

Although some of the guys stop at some areas to shoot on the way home.

We do however encourage BFCF's Big F'n Camp Fires and Mikey is known to light off a few fire crackers (some really close to my head)LOL Jerk!
