Thanks Smegal! You got some great footage!

For those on dialup, here's a clip from Smegal's video that's a bit smaller and shows a complete cycle from rest, to stuff, to full extension to rest again.

http://people.delphiforums.com/WATRD/posts/flex.wmv

It's a bit smaller and more bandwidth friendly.

What are the minor issues?

Looks great. Great video, but "You gotta wait for them to take the picture!"

The locknuts on the draglink came loose and the springs relaxed, allowing the shackles to settle back to more angle than I would like. The first one we didn't expect, the second one we did, just not so fast. Easy fixes on both.

hehehhe I am not paused for them to take a picture at that point, I am looking for clarification for where I am. I can only see sky right there and it was so smooth going over the crevises that I didn't know I was done My spotter was standing in front of my and I couldn't see anything but his fingertips held over his head over the front of the hood So, I am waiting for the spotter to reposition and tell me where to go next.

Whoa..!

Knarly, Rob!

It takes a leap of faith to SAS a pricy late model Taco, but it looks like it the off-road performance might have been worth it.
Now that you have put some miles on it, and have taken it off-road, what are your thoughts regarding this project? Are you happy and glad you did it? Or, is it too early to tell for sure?

It looks kick ass, easily one of the most hard-core, capable rigs prowling the Great NW. Great job!

Sorry for the late reply, I was in Ottawa for christmas week and couldn't seem to find an internet connection to save my life Now I am back and am recovering from the flu I enjoyed for my last few days there...

I am nothing but glad I did the swap. The rig did GREAT on the shakedown cruise. The rocks in the video were such that I likely would have declined to attempt them with the IFS, as everyone else on the run did, but with the new set up, it just cruised trhough them like they weren't there. If you watch the video, pay attention to the body roll, or lack there of. The new suspension completely absorbed it, so it's obvious that I wasn't even touching the capabilities that it now has

As a bonus, it rides better now than it did with IFS. A bit stiffer yes, but it IS a truck, so I like that. I don't really want a Cadillac ride in a pick up

There's still some fine tuning to do to get it in peak shape, but I am all smiles

Thanks! But I must give a lot of credit to my Crew Chief, ChrisCo. Without him, I would still be IFS Between us, we managed pull a rabbit out of a hat on this one
