Seattle MidWeek 1st Unofficial 4ROC Run, Thurs. June 19th

Okay Folks, after the success of last nights run, I'm ready for another midweek run, and since I'm working on getting the Washington Chapter of 4ROC together, I'm declaring this the first unofficial 4ROC trail run, although all vehicle types are welcome!
Club membership rules will follow shortly, but lets get out there and have some fun in the meantime.

The plan is to do more exploring in the Tinkham Rd. area, meet off exit 42, 7:00, just like before, if possible, show early and air down early. The goal is to be back at the parking lot not much later than 10:00 PM- all of us (except Joey, you bastige!) who had to work today would agree that getting back late is not alot of fun.

Hope to see you all there!

Depends on what you are expecting to see on the trail, but around 15 psi is a good bet. Smooths out the washboard sections of the forestry trails real nice.

Heres a teaser for you guys.

Copied from the other post.
-----------------------

Ok ya'all (Especially Rob),

Here's the first vid of our Tinkham run.

Heres the night shot of Rob's Pucker decent. I didn't edit any of it. I felt it was all worth seeing. I also had to keep the vid quality high due to it being shot in night vision.

I have a view more vids of Jowie, David and Mark on the hillclimb but Im running late for a night out.

I get to it tonight though. A view pics to come as well.

Enjoy

The file is 9.12mb so PLEASE save it to your computer before you play it. Otherwise it will kill my bandwidth and shut my site down. Thanks!

I'm there!

I may have to borrow deflators and mooch air one more time though. I have deflators and a larger compressor on order, but I don't know that they'll show up in time for me to get them installed.

I promise... The 3rd time will be a charm and I'll be able to share in the airing-up!

Wahooooooooo!

what are deflators? i mean of course they deflate your tires, i gathered that much, but doesn't a key work just fine to push in the little tab? and can i mooch some air off somebody? and if any of you guys ever need refills on your power tanks im pretty sure my dad can do it for free. he works at air products and deels with gasses and all that good stuff. its fun to play with the liquid nitrogen

...

Tire deflators, depending on which style you get works better than a key...

For instance the Staun Tire Deflators, can be set at a cetain PSI.. which means you put em on (all 4 of them) and it will stop at your set psi... makes things alot easier and faster....

I end up using jowie's since I don't own a set yet...

Hey Mark,

No worry about the deflator- a tire gauge and a sharp stick always works for me! I couldn't get my cheap coleman compressor working last thursday, but those are only 20 bucks and do the trick till I can afford to put something under the hood.

Thursdays are good, since its easier to limp through friday. Ducky, sorry about the accident- you're more than welcome to ride shotgun with any of us in the meantime though.

I think alot of us would be up for weekend runs too- it was mostly just an excuse to get out during the week after work, now that its staying light so late. I'll probably try to get something together for the weekend in about two weeks or so, but it sounds like people liked the run we did on Thursday- coming back in the dark made it quite a bit more exciting!

I use these for airing down, http://www.oasisoffroad.com/quickAirDeflators.html
They're cheap/simple and work great. I just got done ordering another set since my puppy decided my old set was a chew toy.

Gotta love dogs. I think Shane uses these same ones- they let out air fast- but I like the idea of the pre-set pressure stops on the other ones. Wish they weren't so expensive! I'd rather put 50 bucks towards PIAA lights or something else.

Tonight (Thurs, 6/19), Exit 42,I-90 East, 7:00 PM, if possible show up a few minutes earlier to air down so we'll be on the trail by ~7:00. It sounds like we've got some more exploring to do in the Tinkham area. Plan on about 3 hrs. round trip, would be nice to be airing back up in the parking lot ~10:00 PM, but guess we'll see what happens.

Okay guys, final head count! At the moment, I know Mark, Rob, and myself are going to be there. Who else?

This will be my last run with my stock electrical system, so take a good look at my lighting dimming at idle while you can. The next time you see my rig on the trail, it will take a major natural disaster to run me low on current

See you all tonight. I am hpoing to be there before 7:00, but in case traffic is heavy, please hang out for me, I will be there

Will do. I'm hoping the I-90 bridge isn't too nasty tonight. Hey Kevywevy, got a CB?
