I'll be spending about a week in the Aspen / Snowmass area in September with my wife and brother & his wife. We don't have an agenda, just vacation time scheduled off. Our travel vehicle will be my wife's 4th gen 4Runner (4WD). I'm wondering if anyone could recommend some scenic trails that a stock rig with street tires could navigate. I think it would be cool to find something more than just a dirt road, but nothing gnarly that I need 36" tires and a winch to handle. Would be nice to go somewhere I don't see any Subaru's. As far as that goes, if someone has a good understanding of the Colorado trail rating and what level I should consider as manageable for a stock 4th gen, I'd appreciate that insight.

I will be taking camping gear, but still on the fence as to if we'll use it. A few hours or day trip is more what I'm looking for. More interested in the views than the technical wheeling part, although some technical stuff would keep things interesting. Maybe somewhere that leads to a lake or has some "destination" in mind such as an overlook or short hike, etc.

BTW, also kind of considering trailering the 2 wheeler (street only) out there. Think it would be worth it, or is most of the scenery there best viewed from the dirt roads?
