Holy crap! Now Progear says my gears and bearings are trashed. I don't even push my truck that hard, you SD guys know I'm a pu$$y. I know it's cuz that pinion gear loosened up again, but Progear is denying that they worked on that, f'n liars.

Anyway, Protrux has come to the rescue again, donating a third they had on hand for a smokin deal. They really go out of thier way to help returning customers. I should be able to get it back and locked tomorrow.

if anything goes wrong in a diff it's best to replace it all. that way you can cya.... that still sucks if they had it apart within 10k or so miles unless you run it with no oil then it's their bad set up that might have caused it.... my buddy who is building my rig just replace his third ring and pinion both times he had P.G. series do the install and both time the ring and pinion blew like 30k miles and third ring set ridiculous... the final set he had someone else do it and now it seems right.....

well, I thinkI might have to bail on this trip due to my unexpected diff explosion. For one thing it might now be done in time, and also I am already strapped for cash...big time. Having to pay for this fix will take the last few pennies that I would have for gas and an adventure pass. I hate to say it, but I'm not sure I can swing it anymore. LAME!!!!!

I'm so frustrated. I just want my truck back and working. I always heard progear was the way to go in SD, but with my luck and your buddies, maybe I will be calling up rasta to get it done at MIT next time.

I KNOW! I'll do my best to get out there somehow. But it's looking pretty dismal as of now. I expected problems with my setup,as a lot of it is custom, I just didn't expect this.....this was done almost a year ago and I have put very little mileage on my truck (Hell, protrux has had my truck for 6 months). Depending on how much $ this ends up beiong will determine if I can roll out. I'm running real thin until my next paycheck and this was enough of an unexpected hit to totally wipe me out.

Wow
this got going pretty good then sort of blew out. No big deal stuff happens. Maybe we should rename the thread (Corral Canyon Trip Sat 17 Dec SD Crew) and bump it a few times today to pump some life into it?

Seth, Good luck with your truck, that really sucks. I didn't realize how important proper gear setup is.

Looking foward to seeing some pictures.

Dude, I know you're not supposed to cuss on here, but "F*^& PROGEAR"

Dude they are dicks on so many levels. First they denied working on my gears. Then said they just installed the locker, which we could have done without them. The whole reason we sent ti to them was because the pinion gear loosened. They said they just touched it for the locker.

I asked him how a non-gear shope coudl see that it needed setup and that a gear shop (progear) couldn't. The guy says that they only do what thier told. Thanks a lot.

If I was working on a guitar and the neck was gonna fall off, I'd tell the client.

Anyway, I asked him if they hold any accountability for thier setups. He said that they woudl for 12,000 miles or 1 year. No problem, I'm under both. So he asks me what size trie I run. So I tell hiom 33", it's the right size for 4.88's. And he comes back with, "We only warranty up to 32's.

Screw them. Don't go to Progear. I paid a good 1300.00 to have the gears installed, and 200.00 a year later to install my retard proof lunchbox locker and reset the gears. 1500.00 for a truck that gets moderately used at best for maybe 30k

I am so pissed I a can see red. At least Protrux is bending over backwards to take care of me.

As of right now 6:15 firday....I have nothing in my axle. No go for tomorrow. I'm as bummed as can be.

Once this gets straightened out, my truck is done with scheduled shop visits, so I plan to be out there with you guys.

Progear just served me a tasty ˟˟˟˟˟ sandwich.

Kinda getting down to the wire. Any takers for this run? Don't want to leave anyone behind just because they were running alittle late for the 0900 meeting at the Alpine Carls Jr. If not it will be just Marc and me.
