The turbo clutch is ideal, but you need to get a turbo housing which is tougher to find than nudie pics of Jessica simpson (I know). The 3.0 clutch is slightly larger, plus the flywheel has more mass. I forget why but that extra mass converts to spinning force and some how that makes more grip. In the early 90's they started putting this clutch into the 4cyl trucks and 4runners anyway. Jim at Protrux figured it out and did it on mine. Haven't had a single problem.

I guess the turbo is the best option, but very expensive becaus eof the rare parts,
I also heard a bout a 3.4 clutch swap, btu again expensive,
Centerforce is an option, but they are expenisve and Jim said the feel and performance isn't desirable for what we do.

Hope that helps. Call Jim at Protrux and he can tell you what parts to get. 76-761-0170

A high mass flywheel will give you more control...

At low speed.

However, where and when are we wheelin' ??

It would be nice to find somewhere camp-able that's closer than Superstition (especially for people north of SD county). It would be nice to not waste half the day driving somewhere. I don't know a whole lot of places around here.

Why not just tag along with the TTORA run on 5-14-05 since they're not "tacoma specific" anymore?

4Runners need to represent!

I refuse until they change thier name. My 4Runner finds the word "T" word offensive.

We have some fun trails...

In Elsinore, Tuscany Hills, El Toro Rd, Gavilan Hills.

And a place called 'The Rock Pile'.

Great for a day trip if you guys come out. Some spots not passable with a 2x though.

That could be fun, Jim. I'd be down for a northern run sometime.

Ok how about we crash expat's "show and shine"(from t4r.org) in Big bear on may 7-8? He is doing a little recon in big bear soon to try and find something for the 2wd trucks to do. 4x4's are also coming, not sure who except Lance(Good times) w/his 4th gen.

His orig thread here-SoCal meetup in Big Bear

I've only been to big bear trails once, and we ran John Bull, white mtn(or gold mtn?) and holcomb valley, very fun trails up there. Camping is available as well.

So whats the story with Coral Canyon. Is anyone planning on going up there on the 14th and 15th? I think my friend Zach and i are going then and would definatly appreciate some company and/or dudes with more experience than us newbies.

I'm going to try to make it out to Corral Canyon on the 14th. I want to try out my new bobbed bed, hopefully it don't fall off. I also plan on having a new clutch by then.

Never been there my self, but I've driven by it. I've heard that there are some great trails there, from easy to intence. here's a link that says more about it.

I don't knwo if anyone else realizes this, but that's in a National Forest, and you usually need some sort of pass. Just thought I'd mention it.

I think you only need the "Adventure pass" if youre camping, at least thats true in Big Bear. If we do camp there I would highly reccomend camping by Lake Morena.
