i will camp near where we camped last time so it should not be too hard to find..... check the directions i posted earlier. i will be a little east of the spot it shows on the map. it's very flat on the west side of the mountain so you should be able to spot me and whoever else decides to camp with me fairly easy.....
what flag?
i will monitor cb channel 4 again and also cell phones work pretty well out there due to towers on the mountain. so again feel free to call me 619 279 2177
mikey
p.s. saturday morning we should all meet by 9am if you are going to be later than give us a buzz and we will try to hang around

i heard rain is coming thursday night and friday so i'm not quite sure if i will camp friday night out there if that's the case... i hope the forecast is clear for the rest of the weekend, but for right now i'm just going to play it by ear. i definately do not want to camp in the rain that would suck.

Looking at Weather Underground.com it says Friday is 80% to rain with a flash flood watch until Friday night. Then Saturday is 30% as of right now for rain.

I got my winch all finished up!

More pics here. What a tight fit!

alright i think we might have to postpone this run again. the weather in san diego is supposed to be bad but according to the national weather service this storms major impact will be much farther to the east of san diego... mainly in the deserts and into arizona. I HATE RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think we should all just go to the off road expo this weekend at cajon speedway and if we really want to make a total redneck weekend out of it we could go to the del mar fair for the gun show.........

sing along with me now SWEET HOME ALABAMA.............

i dont think it's worth going to superstition for just a day......

Depending on how bad the rain is it could be a mud bowl but I've never been there. How much different is it than Anza Borrego?

There's always the snow run with TTORA up at Big Bear!

since this is being postponed I think this may be the best time as any to hijack...

For you North County folk, what are some good places (if any) to go do some wuick wheeling around here? Like anything very close to the Oceanside/C-bad/Vista/San M/Esco area, perhaps in the county areas nearby. Once I'd get this U-Joint thing worked out I'd like to be able to just go run around some hills or something just so I have a reason to engage 4WD.

I'll delete this post if someone asks me to.

Wink The TTORA run at Big Bear...

will be slip and slide slush & mud run on Gold Mtn.

For Drbeau, Elsinore/Tuscany Hills has some short but mild to wild runs.

I like Mike's Gun Show idea. I need shotshells.

Of course, I could stay home and finish building my new front bumper.

Also: I did NOT realize the big deal with staying the night until I looked at how far it is to there. Holy Frijoles!

DARX- SWEET WINCH. Looks super clean. I like it.

What's up with this offroad expo??? Is it gonna be a jeep fest and mallcrawler fest.

If I see another bracket lifted fullsize, I'm gonna soil myself. Worthless piece of......

Anyway would a 4Runner operator such as myself have fun at such an event?

Like I said in the other post, the Off Road Expo is mostly buggies, jeeps, and bling machines--but you can get stickers to plaster on your ride, and they have motorcycle jumpers-last year they had guys jumping little 80's and the year before they had a really cool trial rider jumping on tables and over people.

It is good for a couple hours. Sounds like we should go on Sunday AM. There are coupons if you go HERE
