Rausch Creek off road park Trip
#23
Bob, as i was looking over the rausch creek website a few questions came to mind:
Have you or did you plan on contacting the park staff to let them know we have a small group coming?
Does everyone that you got coming have a membership (i dont but will get one when we get there)?
i thought i had another one but i guess not.
just out of curiosity have you been to rausch before? i havnt really been anywhere with my truck since ive been in iraq 15 months out of the last 24.

no I have never been! I didn't think I would need to call them, I just kinds figured that we wouldn't be to large a group for them. Do you think I should ?
Every driver is require to get membership so its kinda just part of the entrance fee and you can do all that when you get there.
Everyone should check the website so the know what to expect!

i do think we should atleast call and give them a slight heads up, and also ask any questions, that you have or anyone else has. and check to make sure they dont have any other huge groups going, you know the basic info. also find out if they put out porta-poty-johns yet. cuz camping without bathrooms sucks unless your 12 miles back country. if you need help with anything let me know. is everyone planning on going up friday night or are some of them coming up saturday morn? also, are fires permitted? they site says they are in designated fire rings but its possible they might have restrictions, i wouldnt think this early in the year but who knows.

I was on their website and it says that calling ahead is a perferred thing. Plus just if anyone cares the Membership is $10 thats for driver and any passengers each, PLUS $35 each day to get onto the course.
[ex: Guy ($10 )+ Girlfriend ($10) (assuming they are both over 16) + 1 day of 'wheelin ($35) = $55 ]
Check out their website for more info, it seems like a really nice place, if you guys go again in the late spring/early summer let me know i would love to try to make it.

I would most likely go up friday night, but I'm not certain yet. It's only about an hour drive for me so i guess it depends on how cold it is still. But it would be fun to get some camping in also. I agree that it cant hurt to give them a call ahead of time. The website says that if you want to camp the night before you need to arrange that ahead of time anyway. I cant imagine that fires would not be allowed this time of year either. I might have found a guy i work with to come up also. WARNING...he drives a jeep...but he's a good guy. we give each other crap about our rigs all the time. I guess we still got a few weeks to iron out the details of meeting and what-not. Lookin forward to it.

My fiance said shes up for going and camping friday night as well. Bobzombie, when you call can you find out any info about camping the night before. ie. what time you need to get there by etc. It would be appreciated. Thanks man.

I've been wanting to go there for a while. I've pretty much locked in the 7th, if anyone wants to go then. I might be able to make both dates. If the 7th doesn't pan out, I'm definitely up for the 21st.

I called! There is no special time to get there Friday night. There is a cable across the driveway but she told me how to get in( pm for instructions) other then that she said camp safe and responsible and she would see us at the office in the morning!

Cool. Just picked up a full size spare this weekend. (my old spare was a size too small since i just up'ed the tire size after xmas.) Also just picked up a CB radio last night and on the way home the stupid CEL came on. P0136. Looks like someone is getting a new oxygen sensor as well.
