Talking about Jason (2x Red 4Runner)? Stock GSAs are actually a very good pismo tire; and after i aired him down, he did pretty well.

Who was rescued by a SAMURAI??
Ok, whos the funny guy that photoshopped the strap from the samurai to my truck.
reason 2:
samurai ran out of gas and i had to pull him on reverse.
reason 3:
You guys were to busy posing and taking pictures. No help around except for Samurai.
Laurie and I had a great time. And learned a lot about driving in the dunes.
so many people to thank.
Scott (monkeynutz) - thanks for the night run!! You alone convinced laurie for the approval of my future 4x4.
Jason(L33t)/Charles(calrockx) -thanks for finishing up last years left-over chicken. jk
Bob - thanks for friendly welcome and trusting me with your truck with my 6 passengers.
Steve- Mucho thank you for,.. LOTS of stuff. (too much to list)
and everyone else!!
Cant wait til' next year.

i knew you werent anywhere near rolling also. i knew you were scared, as ive been in your same predicament before (first time offroading, scared when you hear a pop or a tire drops out of nowhere, or car is tilting). you have such a low center of gravity since you arent lifted, you were nowhere near rolling. you probably coulda just thrown it in 4 low and dug yourself out, but i wanted to put on a show, kinda
and monkneynuts, that place has some beautiful sunsets!! heres the one from your site http://members.cox.net/bigfatmonkeyn...g_0424_jpg.jpg
i have one just like it!!!

All,
Aside from the overnight pass problem the first night, I breathed a huge sigh of relief b/c everyone was so damn cool and worked with each other to have a good time. Whew!
I really enjoyed meeting everyone and connecting the names w/ the faces. Lemme see if i can remember: Eric, Wendy, Scott, Crystal, Bud, Laurie (aka Sophia, Julie---haha), Casey and posse, Charles, Jason, Mike and Samantha, Tai (thx for the coolant and stories!), Milton, Nick and girlfiriend + friend, Bong and Tony, Bruce, Jose, George and family, Peter and huge group of friends, Brian, Jim, Geoff, Chris (pismoboy), my bro John + nephews, my friend Kyung, and last but not least, my wife Patty. I'm sure i forgot a few but man, there were plenty of folks at the 1st annual Pismo 4RJ!
Being a noob to off-roading, i learned a few things on this trip namely recovering vehicles and the right equipment. Thanks to Steve and Mike Kapash (where'dya go?!?!) for the lessons...and thanks to both Russell and Peter for being unwilling participants.
Also of note, Jason (L33). 2WD'd the whole place with very little trouble. I was impressed w/ how he navigated the dunes to make sure he didn't get stuck. Also, Charles (Calrockx) was impressive too---I believe "No Fear" is a good way to describe his style of driving!
Anyways, send us feedback! What did you like and disliked? And how would you improve the next Pismo 4RJ? Send us your feedback to pismo4rj@4runners.org
I'll post pics later though I didn't take as many as I would have liked to.
Bob

I hope fun was had by all, I know I had a lot of fun.
Well, here is our camp at the end of the beach:
and here are our neighbors who would ride their motorcycles at 3am right beside us:
On saturday we set up for a group shot then we headed out to the dunes:
Here's Jim running the bowls in what is believed to be a Jeep once owned by Charles Manson:
After a couple hours we came back for lunch and set up an RTI ramp. Here's Jim diligently supervising the work crew:
Here's me on the RTI ramp:
And here's the camp at sundown:
Notice how red the campfire is? That's not a photography effect, thats a road flare:
I think I had the most carnage (among the toyotas) in the group. While on the RTI ramp I found a crack in my 10 year old CV boot:
Luckily for me I carry an extra CV axle with me and a one of the guys attending is a mechanic and had it changed out in 1.5 hours.
Can't wait for next year!
OK, now does everybody believe me when I tell you to air down to less than 10PSI?!

Scott, you took some great pics. I'll be e-mailing you shortly!
Hey here's a suggestion.... why don't we have a bit of a photo competition...maybe the winning pic can be used on next year's t-shirt?
Or if we're really anxious for new merchandise, we can probably get shirts made with the winning image now.
Speaking of shirts, I need to order a new t-shirt. I just couldn't manage In N Out while driving, and slopped some sauce on my shirt. Washed it last night, but the stains didn't come out!!
