Damn, I should have gone. Looks like so much fun. I wish I could have made it. I had family crap to do and my truck isn't quite set yet.

My 4runner is going in to get the long travel front setup this week or next, so I'll be lookin like Bruce out there.

We need to plan an Ocotillo trip soon here so we can meet up. It would be awesoem to do some of these gatherings more often. Get us all to use our trucks more.

How about Ocotillo in Late August/Early September? Anyone up for it???

Lance,

To bad nobody got pics of your air time. I think next time we should designate a group photographer that keeps an eye out for crazy people like you and takes pics of stuff that happens.

Biff,

I'll make it next time and my girlfriend would totally be up for being a designated photographer. She's got some killer equipment and knows how to use it. The scenery totally lends itself to great photos......all it takes is our crazy driving.

did anyone else notice that Pismo seemed a bit smaller this year? we drove along the fence twice looking for things we've found a few years ago as well as last year, and came up with nothing. does anyone know about them closing parts of the park?

First thing out and there was a damsel in distress.... A VW buggy that died needed a tow back to her camp. While driving back in with ease, I tried to climb a steep slope. My rig made it to the top, but the boat anchor I was towing brought me to a dead stop. After several attempts, I tried the dual pull with my winch line hooked up to a Taco, but all that did was got me spun in, to the point where I needed a tow backwards to get out.

Near the end of the day there was a stock Tundra the nose dived into a bank back where your rig was when I first saw it broke down. He wasn't even aired down, after pulling him out I came across another female ATV driver that had spun in her rear tires in, so deep that it strained my winch pulling it free. I lost count on the number of rigs I had to pull out, it seemed like every dune I crossed there was another buried vehicle.
