Steve planted thoughts of an engine upgrade in my head and even though I can't the thoughts won't go away. Damn you Steve!!!
My bro said you almost flipped it, jumping a dune . I didn't get to take any pics of you getting air in your truck. Hopefully I will be getting air with ya next year. Sucks that we couldn't get all the first gens out in the dunes.

oh yeah! We crested and I was looking for more action and I ended up stalling at a 30-35% passenger side lean. I just looked at him and asked, "What do you think? forwards or reverse?"

I don't think we got any real air - just a few inches.

On the other hand, I hear Lance got quite a bit of hang time in his rig

LOL...Yeah we saw you disappear over the crest and then we saw you kinda sitting there. On one of your runs up the hill you got some good air on the driver side. Did Bruse ever get his Air shots? I am still looking forward to all the pics.

Ok, here's the writeup. Link to more Pictures.

Thanks for coming everybody and I hope everybody had a great time! Peter didn't do the story of his truck justice so I'll have to spice it up (but it's late so you'll get the condensed version).

We got the 4runner through most of pismo town under it's own power, slowly. Then at an intersection the clutch decides to die completely, but milton manages to get it across the road at the speed of a dual tcase in 4lo lo, while everybody waits for him. So I tow him for about 5 more miles until we decide to just call AAA. On the side of the road where we're waiting for the tow truck was this jackass that just kept looking at us.

So we get it back to the house and Pete, Milton and Brian tear into the tranny. They get everything apart by 10pm on Sat and head back to camp at midnight. We start up again at 9am on sunday and do a parts run a couple times. Finally, at about 9pm they get everything back together and fire it up. Immediately, everybody looks at each other and says Exhaust leak! So we take a look and find that the exhaust pipe is practically broken in half! Peter still needed to get back to work the next day in san diego. We end up taping the crack with metal tape, wrapping it with a cut up beer can and clamping a pipe clamp around the crack! We also noticed that there was no oil on the dip stick. We ended up adding more than 2 quarts of oil to get it full, the capacity is a little more than 4 qts.

Anyway, we sent him on his way and he made it! I guess I owe jim $5

Also, on the way back to camp on Sat night we got to see a mini Burning Man event in the dunes.

Video

Unfortunately I had very little footage to work with as it is not easy trying to get some drive time and shoot video. But here is a low quality vid for now. I will post a better quality one later with a write up and some pics. I missed some good scenes, especially the dune racing we did.

Oh just save to harddrive first before playing, it is still more than 9MB.

Nice pics, I like the one where you are picking the best bbq and your girlfriend is rolling her eyes

Is that your truck with the lights on top? Did you get a lift too?

High QUality Video

Here is the high quality video. It's more than 60 MB, so save to your harddrive.

Enjoy!
