You are right, my "guess" was wrong, the front drain plug on mine is machined into the Marlin adapter:

Oh, that's where the front drain plug is located. Thanks! My All-Pro crossmember kinda hides that area of the adapter. I would have to remove the crossmember to get to that plug.
