FRIDAY
Hancock/Tomichi Passes
Holy Cross

SATURDAY
Taylor Pass/American Flag Mt.
Wheeler Lake
Old Chinaman's Gulch

SUNDAY
Mount Antero and the off-shoot to Baldwin Lake
Wheeler Lake
Red Cone

Just a question from the peanut gallery: what would happen if there was one run on Wheeler Friday and one on Saturday. Split the group in 2? Some of the folks will not be arriving until Friday night, they can go on Sat. Personally, I'll opt for a less crowded group.
BTW: 12 years ago Red Cone could be done in a stock IFS 4Runner, but the driver was younger and dumber... still have my dad's finger nail marks in the dash. Haven't wheeled in 7 years, hope the rig's ready....

We're splitting the gorup in two on Sat and Sun. Anyone from the Friday gang who would consider running Wheeler on Fri is doing Holy Cross.

FYI, good trail descriptions can be found on both TrailDamange.com and www.4x4Trails.net (click on the Trails link).

Also, I've added to the "things to bring" list: sunscreen and a hat. Being high elevation, the sun will get you.

So will we have to or need to switch our registrations?

I want to do Holy Cross, Wheeler and Chinamen's, but one of the big attractions to Wheeler for me is wheeling with people I did not wheel with the other two days. Last year I enjoyed daily wheeling with Steve, Steve, and Jeff, but some new blood is good too.

I just e-mailed all the people who have registered, and requested them to sign up again on the new schedule and reply to me directly. Again we apologize for the confusion and appreciate your flexibility and patience with the schedule. Hopefully we will have something for everyone while keeping the group size down to a manageable level.

The new sign up looks great and thanks for adding screen names as well.

Red Cone is the one that comes down a long, steep, exposed face at 10k plus, right? That is going to be hard to pass up especially since Wheeler on Sunday might just be the same people I have wheeled with all weekend.

I don't suspect you're going to find many of the other folks doing Red Cone.

Redcone's been on my "must do" list for quite some time now. Never really desired to go though until I got rid of my automatic. Compression braking with an auto just isn't possible (at least it wasn't with mine) but now I have plenty.

It looks like a high stakes version of the Luge in Martinez. I did not have enough gearing with 5.29's and 33's, I would hate to see someone with stock gears do it.

It was kinda similar to the Martinez luge. But I remember having the brakes locked and slowly sliding on the luge. Red Cone's not that steep. 4Runner flex keeps you from sliding at all on Red Cone. I can't wait to do it again.

I think maybe we're going to have to discontinue sign-ups for Holy Cross. It's getting pretty full. signup sheet

Why don't you add another possible run for Friday? Iron Chest certainly isn't as hard as it used to be but might be enough to take some of the load off of Holy Cross.

How many did we have on Holy Cross last year?

Glad to see you will be joining us on that one Jeff.

It is a 95% sure thing I will have an open passenger seat for the event, PM me if anyone wants to tag along.

I think Iron Chest and Grizzly would be an easy\moderate alternative. So I don't think people would want to run that instead of Holy Cross. Maybe that's a night run potential.

I think were up to about 12-13 on Holy Cross now. And that doesn't include the ORS guys. We will probably stop any additional sign-ups on Holy Cross. Or figure out a way to do two groups or something.

Glad it's on a Friday. I hear it's quite a traffic jam on the weekends.

In keeping with tradition i've started a new job just before the Jambo. I now work for the school district. Classes start on the 18th so I probably won't be able to make it friday the 20th. I'll have Sat. and Sunday off. I still have no rig though so I guess i'm out this year.

Have fun everyone.

Hitch a ride, there will be plenty of us with empty seats. You can be the official spotter, photographer, ridin' shot gun...

Who else is coming from, CO Springs? If you can get there you will get out on the trails. What's up with your truck anyways?

I don't have a valid liscence right now and the truck went to truck jail while I went to people jail in Feb. for driving without a liscence. I signed the title to my dad to get it out of impound. It now sits in his driveway with no alternator, no power steering, no winch, a dead battery and a blown tranny bearing. The green 94148JX plates are gone also. I ride a bicycle or the bus everywhere I go now.

I'll be working till 2 PM Friday. I'll have to be back 6 AM Monday. Its a no go on all counts.

Sorry to hear all that. I'm glad to hear you have employment lined up, though. Good luck with that, and we'll have to count on a future time.
