Mw4rj???

Whatcha guys think? Mid-West 4Runner Jambo??

There's a good amount of midwest folks now so I was thinkin we could have one somewhere around here so ppl don't have to drive to Paragon for the EC4RJ if it's there again this year.

I was thinkin Attica? Kentucky? IL?

Give me a time, a place and a weekend. I will see what I can do.

Seriously, I have an affinity for the West, so that is where I head when I have a choice. Despite being in South Central Wisconsin, I have little if any conception of where a good place to wheel would be headed south and east.

Any in state wheeling I have done was up way north, like 4 hours from me which means at least 8 for most of the rest.

Hmmmmm.... Il. border is about 275ish miles one way. I'd love to hook-up w/ some of you guys. I guess w/ enough heads-up it could be do-able.

I won't drive my Jeep of course (I'm claiming a seat in Forrest's 4Runner...hehe)

But... as one who attended the first CO4RJ I have some suggestions:

Don't do it at a 4 wheel drive park. Go somewhere scenic. The Badlands is NOT scenic. I'd go somewhere in Kentucky, maybe Natural Bridge? You want to do trails, not a truck playground. Northern Michigan is an option, too- I know there are some good trails and dunes up that way. (I've never been, though).

Do it sometime in April when there's not a big risk of snow but it's still cool outside. It'll also be pretty because the plants will be blooming.

Make it an all-weekend event. Maybe a 3-day weekend? Camp out. Or at Natural Bridge they have some cabins that would be fun. Sitting around a campfire talking 4Runners after a day of trailriding is awesome.

See if you can get some sponsors. We didn't have any the first year of CO4RJ but I think some of the 4RJs have gotten sponsors now. You can have a raffle and such.

Make it really organized- the most recent CO4RJ was very well organized with waivers and an on-line registration. I know that AZ4RJ and EC4RJ are well-done, too.

anyway, those are my suggestions. I'd be happy to help out even though I drive a Jeep. I would be interested in attending as a passenger... my Jeep is going to stay on the pavement for a little while.

I'm down for a MW4RJ! lets shoot for beginning of April if in April, because the end is when finals is around. Or at least in mid May.

I am gonna try to get out to the EC4RJ, and if this goes well, then this, and maybe the CO4RJ!! wow! Its gonna be a buys wheeling spring!
