May 19-20 corrizo creek cleanup and wheeling.
Meeting place JACUMBA EXIT off I-8 (65 miles east of I-8/I-15 intersection)
Meeting time: 2:00 PM
I'm camping so bring food and water if you want to camp.
Right when you get off the offramp at Jacumba exit, on you left is a dirt parking lot across from the gas station.

This is a 20 acre spot for shooting that is in danger of being closed. All of the SD guys have been here one time or another. Here is the link:

After closing this area for shooting, the mountains that we like to wheel in will be closed next...
I am not signing up for the gig on the above site, just gonna free ball it.
I don't expect anyone here to come pick up trash, just thought it would be another opportunity for us to wheel a little before the full onset of summer. We can wheel in the morning and I could stay for a while and help those guys or vise versa. We could do the alternate route up to valley of the moon and maybe hit the north side of the freeway for those of you that wanted to come the last few times but couldn't.
Another option: Possible night run???

mike, you are the man. I didn't expect anyone to show to pick up trash, but hey if you want to. That place is pretty littered.
Maybe I will head out there in the afternoon and pick up junk for a little bit then we can wheel in evening when the sun will be setting.

I'm in.
I'm down to come help and clean up. I'll see if I can borrow a friends offroad trailer too if you think we would need the extra room to carry out trash. Maybe for once I'll finally get a chance to meet some of the S.D. crew.

Hey Brad, I actually heard about this cleanup too, and wanted to go. I'm down to join in, I don't want to lose this area. But I think they are requiring sign up for participants b/c BLM is making them. I probably will since there will be a shooting competition Sat afternoon for those registered.
As for the trailer, I don't think you'll need it, they will have a couple of big dumpsters onsite. No need to haul it anywhere.

Hey rob, I think there is a few areas with trash that are east of the official range that I will go pick up. I don't want to spend all day out there so I'll just show up later in the day. Also, apparently the flat area due east of the range is private property and the land owner was gone for several years and came home to junk on his plot and is one of the people trying to shut the place down. I'll put a meeting place and time on the first post when the time gets closer.

ya, you can knock on his trailer, but you better be carrying a white flag or have your hands up in the air. No joke. He wasn't that bad of a guy, I talked to him for a little bit, but he defintely doesn't like strangers driving on his property.

Hey Jim, yes it is on Saturday, and I don't think we will be included in the shooting competition unless we sign up for the all day clean up. Which you are welcome to do, but I will not be doing that. It sounds like Rob will be though. I'll bring out my .22 and .223 and we can have our own competition if you like. There are plenty of areas to shoot and wheel.

Wow, im glad to hear the San Diego crew is gonna help out with this. I was out there this last weekend and the place looked like hell. I picked up a whole lotta trash, but theres way to much junk like computers, tvs, water heaters, old mickey thompson slicks etc. Way worse than the last time Josh and I ran out there. Hopefully i'll have my rig running after summer so i can begin wheeling with you guys again. By the way Spaugh, i think i live right around the corner from you.

Brad-Be afraid. Be very afraid.
J/k Matt, what's been going on? Your truck die on you or what?
Oh yeah, Marc, my calendar says that moms day is the week before this is scheduled(Mothers day 5/13.This event 5/19-20) So blow the dust off of the old Marlin .22 and come with us. At this point I haven't registered, still playing it by ear.

Yeah Rob, my truck took somewhat of a dive. I'm pretty sure i'm just gonna get a rebuilt tranny and through it in there to see if that makes a difference. I just need to save a little money and get'r'done.
Spaugh, i live a couple blocks up from Kaiser hospital on Zion Ave.
