Lake Isabel 7/5/03 [PICS]
This was my first adventure on the trail to Lake Isabel. 
It was awesome! Once you cross the river and start heading up the trail it is fairly easy. As you get further up you run into a rock ledge that is 3 feet tall, this was the first of two obstacles.
We had 6 rigs:
crash a.k.a Mike
Shane a.k.a Shane
Mad Chemist a.k.a David
Gbost a.k.a Greg
jruz a.k.a Jim
and me
Here is David's attempt. Everybody but Greg had trouble with this.
Greg made it look easy.
Jim had extra trouble with the open diffs but made it

Now we move on to the second obstacle which is another rock lip.
David tried every line before making it. See the quad next to his Runner? we found that in the middle of the trail and we had to pick it up and move it. We later found the rider near the top walking down
Shane checking to see if David's sliders are working.
Greg made it look easy.
I promised Jim I wouldn't tell anyone we stacked rocks for him, so I'm not gonna.

Shane, Crash and I went on after the wood bridge. This is the only pic I took due to the technical difficulty of this last section.............bigger rocks and lots of them. My skidplate got worked!

Being 5th in line and watching eveyone else helped credit Shane and Ben with the good spotting work
Nice pics this was by far the best trail I've ran so far in my limited experience and can't wait to do it again thaks to the "pit crew" for the air down/up assitance

You can't drive to the lake, unfortunately, you have to walk.

It was a nice relaxing run followed by a relaxing time at the creek with the kids. Was nice to finally put names to faces, plus, I have pics to post tonight of you guys attacking the stair step where the quad was....

Was definitely a great time. Jim and I were surprised by how much trouble the second rock ledge gave us relative to the same trip last summer. Slightly wetter to make things a bit slippery, and a different line made all the difference in the world. My skilz were a bit off on that 2nd ledge- I made a bad line even worse by getting sideways. Thank god for sliderz....

Just an FYI, looks like one or both of my CV's got trashed on this run. I haven't looked real close, no obvious tears in the boots, so I'm hoping that they may just be low in grease (I got some seapage after lifting with the SAWS At
any rate, I might just replace them and have trail spares, and also learn how to replace them in the process.

From your post it sounds like you may be jumping to conclusions. I would look into new boots with new grease. I've heard it's common to have them leak grease after they have been lifted. So maybe a repack would be fine.

Nothing broken, just getting the infamous clicking since the run when turning. I've been lifted for well over a year, I think I've finally lost just enough grease to get some binding in the CV's. Like I said, I think the boots are okay, nothing is busted, it might just need some more lube and I'll be good to go. I would rather learn how to replace a CV in the comfort of my own garage as opposed to learning on the trail, so I might replace at least one of them so that I have a spare.
