I may be very interested in the August Colorado trip. It would be me and maybe 2-5 other rigs from the Kansas area.

We were the ones who met up with you all last year at Holy Cross. We had the Blue 83 Yota truck, the Tan 85 4-Runner and the Snow Camo'ed 85 Yota truck.

We have all made new mods to our rigs and are just itchin to try em out. I am thinkin of re-workin my whole suspension before then as well.

The only problem for us maybe that we would have to come up the 1st or 2nd weekend in August. It is a Schooling issue with kids here.

I had fun running into you guys last year and hoped to do it again but will know more later on the exact date we are thinking of.

FatA$$, that is cool if y'all come out. I was impressed with your patience having built rigs that could have quickly and easily passed. Not too much else to offer in the way of 35's and solid axle trails though.

SteveO, I was talking about Schaefer.

Shaefer, I am glad we are clear. The crack is cool, but there are better obstacles. Doing the Wedgie, Double Whammy and the line that goes up and over right before the Wedgie will prove you are playing for keeps. Too bad Lower Hellderado is closed, that is supposed to be the great one.

I know where the most kick a$$ trails are, and I plan to return.

Sorry for the short hijack here about UT stuff, but:

Adrian, where did you hear that Helldo was closed? I'm pretty sure it was open last fall when we were there, although we didn't actually check. Also, the lower portion is not bad, it's upper Helldorado that is the test piece. Would be fun to see some folks on that this fall

Well thats too bad you won't make it Steve. It sounds like you have several other trips planned for the summer. I have found I need to alternate years and events to get them all in myself and have variety with the family.

I will be down to AZ this Thanksgiving again and will want you to take me out. I'll call you.

Lower Helldorado is definitely closed due to a individual purchasing some of the land. That is a shame, it was the most intense and challenging trails I have ever takin.

Hey everyone, i'm still alive. There was a big question mark in the air about if i'd be able to play this summer or not and it turns out that I can. I'll have my junk patched together before too long so I can go play with you all in August and September.

I sounds like the hard runs are filling up quick with rigs that are way bigger than mine. We'll have to see on the Friday Holy Cross deal. I hope I can squeeze into that group. I'll be on the medium runs Sat and Sun.

I plan to be in for Moab also unless we are too close to needing a permit.

Yeah, Lower is apparently doable with IFS and 33's as per Scott and Jeff's experience/recommendation. Upper is for buggies and is so far open.

The Moab stuff is making me curious. It is sounding more like we are going to have to bite the bullet to assure compliance since everyone is interested, at least at this point. I know things will shift and winnow over the summer, but it still sounds like it will be a destination for many.

Too bad Schaefer is out. Any other Aridzonans thinking about it?

I led a couple trails last year. I'd be happy to do it again this year.

Just to clarify for everyone, no sign-ups are occurring yet. We're hoping to have a sign-up page up soon.

Depending on what day school starts for me in the fall, I am definitely planning to attend. Also, if I can bring someone, that would be nice. I would hate to head there on my own.

I don't and will not have any lockers so I'll say it now: I have shotgun with anyone willing to share!

Before we start loading up the CO thread with a bunch of stuff from Moab, anyway Jeff or someone could start a new thread to begin discussions on Moab. I'm hoping to attend both and would like to start making tentative plans for both. I'd start the thread myself but my threads seems to die quickly for some reason, must be my sparkling on-line personality.

10-4. Judging by the kind of equipment it sounds like will be there I think i'd better stay out of the kitchen. I can't hang with the big dogs. My build up on this truck is finished. I'm going to see if I can't get my hands on one of those $1700 '85 SR5 4Runners that you can find occaisonally.

I got a buddy here in Kansas who has an 85 Runner built and ready to wheel. Locked front and rear, Marlin Crawler, Geared front and rear, 36" TSL's, Custom sliders and rear bumper, good truck inside and out
$4800.00 built and ready to roll.

Here is the link.

Hello Everyone,

I would like to attend both events, but i shall be coming out solo for both. I hope to have a few more mods done on the 4runner by the time October rolls around (I've spent a bit of $$'s at the TJM and ARB shops in Australia, much to my husband's dismay). I had the pleasure of driving a Landcruiser (front/back lockers and other goodies) for a few weeks in Australia *sighs dreamily* to prepare for the Summer fun back home.

Be Well,
Lee

Is the 4Runner locked in the front as well???

I promise I won't yell at anybody this time as well.

Hello SteveO!

You haven't yelled at me, just my husband and for real good reason You've always been patient of my shortcomings, of which there are too many to list.

In Oz, they still sell the Toyotas with the front lockers. It was a real breeze for me when i did 5 delightful days of 4x4'ing on frazier island (mostly sandy beach). The front locker is on my wish list for my Toy back home, the parts were going to be too costly to ship back to CA *sighs*. I've got a few good sized boxes of new gadgets and toys sitting at home in CA, at the moment.

Cheers,
Lee
