Can someone please summarize the plans for this trip? Is it still on? Are we camping? or just a day trip?

I guess it would be nice to have a summary of the event. (I am too lazy to summarize through all the posts).

Thanks

To summarize:
Marc started a thread to try and get all the Socal heads together for a little desert trip. Then he called out the LA posers. Still waiting on some response from them. Maybe if we include some time for looking at each others trucks and taking poser shots they'll come along too.
Just a little ribbing to get the competitive juices flowing. Seriously guys lets go, you guys are always saying you want to go wheeling,so lets go!

So the plan is to wheel at Truckhaven hills during the day on Saturday--some may come out Friday night. Truckhaven has tons of terrain, easy to very hard. Then camp out on Sat night. Then go somewhere else to wheel on Sunday-maybe Coyote Canyon, Ocotillo, not sure where on Sunday yet.

Truckhaven Hills

It will be fun.

Are we going to try and get the same camp spot or something closer to Truckhaven Hills?

I put a post on the TTORA board. When I went with them to Big Bear they seemed cool. I think I want to camp at Truckhaven, unless we find a better place on our adventures Saturday. I get tired of all the motorcycles buzzing around all night in Ocotillo.

I am thinking about doing Coyote Canyon on Sunday. It is on the way home from Truckhaven, and was a blast last time we did it.

Sounds good to me! Camping next to Blowsand is noisy. IT will be nice not to have ATVs running through the middle of camp.

Updated list-

Marc P
Robt2k
Wifesaysimdumb (Mikey)
Steve G-if his truck is fixed
Darx
Timber725
Roadtripr

Looks like it is already a good turnout. We will need to bring firewood. Dinner on Sat night may be at the Hamburger place right outside Truckhaven, unless people feel like cooking.

I will do some research on where the best camping areas are.

looks like we have quite a few interested people. I will start planning the time and meeting place.

Anybody have input on where we should camp on Sat night?

Lately, I've been working 6 days a week and haven't had time to do much of anything. This weekend has been my only chance to do some much needed maintnance on my rig. Got my steering rack bushings, boots replaced, rebuilt the front diff assy, swapped out the front springs, installed Total Chaos Heim Steering kit, new lower Tacoma balljoints and will finish up the rest tomorrow, which includes adding a power steering cooler. If for some reason, I don't have to work on the 11th, I will definately make the trip, otherwise I may just drive down for sunday's run, it really depends on how tired I'll be....

Wow! That's a lot of stuff you did!

Umm, I painted the exposed area left by my rear wheels today where a center cap would go...

Alright. I want in. But, you have to let me bring my buddy with a Jeep XJ. And you can't make fun of him too much, or he will cry.

Also how gnarly is this area, Could I bring a friend witha stock tacoma prerunner, or is it a bad idea.

Anyway Count on two vehichles with the potential for more. -Seth
