If you are in TX, NM, AZ, WA, MT, CO or MO or New England *Please Read*

So I'm ironing out my plans for my Yotatech documentary trip this summer and want really want to try and include as much of yotatech as possible. I will be professionally printing/packaging this and selling it through the Yotatech website so I want as many people/places represented as possible. I currently have plans to be available for shooting in the following cities on the posted dates:

Albuquerque, NM- Aug 4th-6th
Flagstaff, AZ - Aug 10th-13th
SoCal, California - August 18th-20th
Auburn, WA - Aug 25nd-27th
Bozeman, MT - Aug 28th-30th
Glenwood Springs, CO - Aug 31st - Sept 5th (CO4RJ '06)
Kansas City, MO - Sept 5th-8th

**Arrival dates to each city will vary, the dates posted will be secured shooting/meet'n greet days**

Classes for me start Sept 15th so that still leaves some time to get some of the New Englanders. If anyone would be willing to help setup a meet and greet or even a small run in at any of the mentioned cities or any city that wouldn't be too far out of the way please feel free to chime in and we will try to work it out. Right now the only date that is 100% locked down is CO4RJ. I would really like to get the AZ crowd and hit some trails out there. Anybody willing to take the reins and get a meet together on the weekend of the 19th-20th? Steve? I know you want to get at least one of those beasts on camera. Thats if the buggy isn't done by then! Anyway, the sooner I hear from everyone the better. The more places I add, the earlier I'm going to have to leave so lets hear it, who all is interested!? It is first come first serve as far as securing dates so don't hesitate! I will be updating this thread showing what dates are secured.

Thank you,
Austin Kent

I don't think you'll have a problem, Austin. You know there are a bunch of YotaTech cam whores.

I suspect you'll be getting a bit of a turnout from these parts. Do you have a specific target in Auburn, or? Have you been out here before?

WooHoo!

It seems to me that there is someone rather important to the YT clan that lives there.... hmmmm who could it be?

Too sexy for California?

Ha, jk. This sounds good, I'll pick up a copy once it's out. Good luck on this project.

Sounds great! August will be mighty hot for the AZ trip. There are some good run further north in the state, but I'm not familiar with any of those. Hopefully one of the AZ veterans will chime in and offer some options. I'll make plans to be there when a date/place is decided.

What will you be doing in New Orleans? I know there are not many Yotatech members in this area, but I would be glad to assist you with your project in any way I could.

Actually, there are quite a number of Well Known Names that are in this area.

But yeah... maybe you'll be the first to see his new rig!

As Ed mentioned it is fairly hot in August in the AZ deserts...but generally that doesnt stop alot of us from getting out on the trails. Sometimes you just have to bear the heat, night runs are also a good way to avoid the warmer temps or head up into the higher elevations to escape the heat.

Let us know exactly what dates you will be here and we can set something up.

I am sure we can pull together a run while you are in Santa Fe...

There is a local trail "Tank Trap" that is scenic and fun.

I'm mainly stopping in Naw-lens to break up the trip from Savannah to Houston. I have friends that live in both places so I know I will at least have a parking lot to stay in, if not a bed. Plus, my buddy there has some great connections to some of the fastest most exotic cars in the world so I figure its a win-win situation.

calrockx,
not to sexy, just too cool... If the AZ thing works out (which it looks like it will) I might as well go through CA while I'm at it. My dad took a road trip last year and took route 1 up the coast and he was raving about it. I have yet to visit Kal-eee-for-nia and my best friend since 6th grade/current roommate is moving there this summer, its slowly but surly looking like a no-brainer. Like I said, I'm still willing to add to this list so if you can get some guys/gals together and I can still massage the dates I'll be there!!

Ed,
What if we did a 2-day trip up north somewhere so we could get some day shots and night shots and avoid the heat a bit? Its totally up to you guys, you know whats best! I'm pretty easy to please as I'm used to 90+ heat with 98% humidity so as long as the cameras and tapes are melting I'm good to go

Midi,
Maybe I should work on getting some flower decals made up for the FJ so when we position it behind him in the interview he can be as fab as he is in that picture?

Corey,
Would you mind getting somethign together in your area? p-p-p-p-p-please?

Westy,
Lets see if this CA thing works out and sine I assume you guys will all want to meet on weekends I could do the AZ meet, head to my buddys for the week and then meet up with a CA group the following weekend?

Austin, I can not get a run planned until very late.
If by chance I do not get the FJ do to some glitch, I will not be wheeling until I buy a new rig.

My current rig is not worthy to wheel.
I do not know when the FJ will get here.
So for now, I can not make any plans.

Sorry, not what you want to hear, but these are the facts as of right now.
And if I do take possesion of the rig, I can not wheel it for the first month or more.
I am breaking this thing in right.
No wheeling the first month or until after 1K miles for the first oil change.

But others here can plan a run as they often do, and maybe I can ride shotgunnner.

There's a sanctioned WATTORA run on the schedule for 8/12-8/13, but that doesn't preclude any of another 1000 people in these parts putting something together two weeks later.

C'mon out Austin, I'll bet that we can find something to do!

Wait, Austin, do you want to get in on a new england run?

if so, NE4ROC and TTORA-NE have a few good ones scheduled:

June 24-25 - Rausch Creek
July 28-30 - TTORA Mini Takeover @ Paragon
August 18-20 - EC4RJ '06

Beyond that, pick any weekend in Aug / Sept that you can come to new england and we will put a run together at a good spot.

Corey,
1k miles? I could do that in a day! No worries about the rig, we can just pose either of them in the grass, at a trail head where ever for the interview. Whether it hits the trails or not is up to you/the situation. The main thing I want from you is your words of wisdom. As long as I can get an interview I will be happy. Who coordinates the meet makes no difference to me, I just want to do some wheeling while I'm there and get some footage of the other guys that are in the area.
Mark,
Do you want to take the rains and get a meet going on the posted dates? I just don't think I could manage setting up a meet at each spot myself. I will be one person doing what normally 3+ people are doing so I will have enough on my plate while I'm there. Plus, you guys know everyone that’s in the area and know where to go etc. etc. so it would go much smoother if a local was in charge anyway. The dates I posted happen to land on a weekend and work for me so if it works with you lets get them set in stone and get a meet going.

Lee,
I unfortunately will not be able to make any of the mid-summer meets because I'm going to be working trying to make enough money to outfit my truck for the trip. If you want to coordinate a trip around the weekend of Sept 8th-10th I'll head up your way and get some footage of the New England crowd before heading back down south. Like I said before, I'm not going to have enough brain power (especially by that point ) to do much planning for the meet, so if you want to take charge that would be awesome!

I see you wont hit much of the midwest.

IL has Rockport offroad part about 2 hrs (75 miles) north of st louis, and badlands IN is about 45min east of Champain IL, as well as LBL KY and a hand full of other places.

Is there a place to wheel in KC? If you are going to KC, you might want to come up to Des Moines. Its only 2.5 hrs away. Tom (Tdiddy), Bryan(X2andX4) are local also. If not we can caravan down there....

you could always run some trials in Sedona or Flagstaff. Flagstaff is a lot cooler in the summer and we have some good trails around here.
