Holcomb Creek, Big Bear - Sat 2/10

Last minute 1/2 day trip. If it's raining hard we will skip it.

If weather is fair, we will meet at Coco's on Highland off Highway 30, at the base of the mountain at 9AM. Roll at 9:30

Holcomb is a difficult level 3-4 trail.

Lift, locker, sliders, recovery equipment required.

30 and 330 are open

Call Jim in the AM if you are coming - 951-445-204X last digit is a four

Sorry for the late notice. I just got my new shackles finished this evening

The crew so far:
Jim - built 89 crawler
Pat - built 4Runner
.....

Pat and I made it...

Pat followed me and had the only camera. He got some pics...

We followed two V8 LC's and two built Jeeps. The trailboss in the front LC pretzeled his rear driveshaft on a rock slab and tore it in two. Pat and I walked up to see what the delay was. He and his crew were standing there looking at the front piece of his DS laying in the dirt.

Rule # 1 - When you hear your driveshaft grinding across rock, DON'T ADD throttle. Stop, get out, look, back up, and pick a more sensible line.

Rule # 2 - Showing off will usually put you under your rig, and will empty your wallet. New DS about 4-5 bucks.

Rule # 3 - Traction and torque are your friends... Up intil they are not...

So we said thanks for the lead, went around them, and finished the run.

A lot of fun.. Hardcore boulders.. We cleaned everything... Lots of 'pucker factor'... Can you say 'Tippy'....
