Hey Colorado Guys (4th of July Wheeling)
We've been planning the Ol' family vacation for about a year now, my wife has lots of family in Arvada and headed there July 1st for about 10 days.
Although the in-laws are coming, I'm towing my Trekker out behind the burban and my wife and I plan to take off for a 4-5 day ramble/wheeling around Breckenridge, Aspen etc in the Trekker leaving the tow rig for my inlaws to get around.
Was wondering if there is any YotaTech folks out there that would like to hook up for some wheelin' and show this Ohio Farm boy the ropes.
I've wheeled in CO before, just been 2-3 years and any guides, references, etc. would be appreciated and would welcome the chance to meet other Yota Owners.
I know it's a ways off yet, but a trip like this will take as much planning as it can get. I'm sooooo stoked!!!

Don't listen to that Crawler guy! I know nothing!
Actually, it is Wells' Volume 1 that covers the two areas in question. In addition, the Massey/Wilson 4WD Trails North-Central CO and South-Central CO would round off everything that you would need. Those last two books cover everything Wells' does, and more. Both series compliment each other very well.
You won't need any of the Trails Illustrated maps, though they're certainly nice, but who am I to not recommend them? I only have over 20 in my collection!
Ten days will make for a nice visit. I would like to be able to meet up and drive a few roads, but I can't commit quite yet. I usually just make up my schedule right before the weekends! We'll see. I'm sure some other locals would be up for it, though, and possibly even a group dinner in Denver.
If you need a list of trails you should take, let us know. Happy planning, and hope you can get some sleep in the meantime!

Guys,
Thank you so much for the detailed replies. These sound like excellent references and will come in handy for sure.
Since time is limited, getting to the appropriate trails for my rig will be key. I've heard Colorado has some trails out there
It's been 3 years and we are excited beyond belief to get out in the Mountains again. My cousin likes to take me up to Rollins Pass and fish the stream right next to the railroad tracks. Pulled a couple sweet trout out of there last outing.
As it gets closer, I'll post up a cell number, it would be nice to meet as many folk from this board as possible.
Thanks again,
Jutty
