Help planning a big bear run

Me and some friends are renting a cabin in Big Bear, California this weekend from Thursday to Sunday. The trip is based around snowboarding, but I'm driving the 4runner to do a little offroading plus it's nice to have in case it snows. I'm still pretty new to offroading so I figured I'd post something on here and see if you guys can help me plan it.

So first off the cars, I'll be in my IFS 86 4runner (31"s and 2" of lift) and a buddy of mine is driving his Jeep wrangler (early 90s, 2.5L, 33X12.5s). So from what I hear, to offroad in Big Bear you just have to stop by the Big Bear Discovery Center and get a adventure pass? We're planning on going offroading this friday, the 14th, so could I just stop by there Friday morning? Should I get a map from there or should I get it elsewhere? Any suggestions on what trails we should try (considering what vehicles we brought)?

Other then the vehicle, what else should I bring?
-tow strap
-bottle jack
-jumper cables
-handheld radios
-extra coolant
-extra oil
-complete set of tools
-flashlights
-water
-shovel?
-axe?

If anyone wants to join us or will be up in the area on friday, let me know and we can meet up. Thanks for all the help guys.
