Arrow HALLO'wharrie 2006

Greetings!

--> Have you been trying to think of a good excuse to go and hit some trails in Uwharrie?
--> Are you tired of those strict "We're all gonna be out there by 7:00am sharp, or else" type events?
--> Have you ever wanted to see a Honda climb the ledge on Daniel, totally unassisted?

If so, then
HALLO'wharrie might be just what you've been waiting for!

Who? -- Everyone that knows how to behave themselves is welcome!
What? -- for a relaxed-paced 6 day Trail-Run and Camping Vacation
Where? -- in the Uwharrie National Forest - Uwharrie, North Carolina
When? -- Wednesday through Monday, October 4th through 9th
(with the main days being Friday & Saturday)

Why? -- If you have to ask... :pat:

HALLO'wharrie originally began as an Isuzu / Mitsubishi gathering - however, with lots of our friends often showing-up with so many other different types of vehicles (yes, sometimes even Jeeps), over time it has basically turned into an Any & All Brand sort of thing. -- It's always a blast, so why fight it?

There are no clubs or organizations running the show - there really isn't even a set schedule to speak of... HALLO'wharrie is simply a laid-back extended weekend where a bunch of old friends (and new friends that we just haven't met yet) can get together and enjoy the trails.

The people who attend this event are undoubtedly some of the most genuinely friendly and helpful you'll ever want to meet, and they will go well-out-of-their-way to assist you if you happen to break down (with plenty of tools, equipment, and experience to get the job done!) - while at the same time, the capability of the vehicles run from bone-stock daily-drivers to highly modified SAS'd dedicated trail rigs - so there's always a trail-group that will match whatever you bring.

*** For anyone that has never been to Uwharrie - most of the trails are passable with a basically stock rig (unless it's raining; then things can get pretty damned interesting out there!) - but there are still a few good spots to play around for the majority of you harder-core types... where the less worthy among us can take the by-pass, and then park and watch the show.

For this event, having a good sense of humor is an ABSOLUTE MUST! --- This is, after all, mostly a group of those 'crazy' underdog-brand 4-wheelers that hardly anyone takes seriously (therefore, we really don't take ourselves too seriously either ) ...So don't be surprised when you see
Saturday's All-Day Halloween Costume'd Trail-Run lining-up to head out!

Oh yeah, and on Friday and Saturday nights, we usually eat pretty well too. --- A group of us that are (not so jokingly) called the 'Iron Chefs' have been know to whip-up the sort of meals that leave everyone fat-bellied and wondering "How'n-the-hell'd-they-do-that?" --- Sometimes we pass the hat to help cover the costs (maybe $5 or $10 a head) - and sometimes not; it depends - but whenever we have asked for some cash, no one has ever complained or said that they didn't get their money's worth.

Some of our previous offerings include: 20+ oz. Twice-Marinated 'NAFTA' Ribeyes; 100% Authentic Shrimp & Mud Bug Cajun Boils; Rosemary-Smoked Silence of the Leg o' Lamb; Perfeição d’Chorizo over Basmati Rice; Pit-Roasted Jamacian Jerk Beer Can Chicken; etc. --- Hey, like I said, we usually eat pretty well. :pig:

And just in case it rains, over at the main campsite there's always the latest version of the ever-changing Electric-Lit Uber Shelter overhead - with enough BS flying around underneath to keep everyone thoroughly entertained until the next trail-run.

OK, that's the big pitch...
Do I have to light a fire under ya?
