Colorado Wheeling Nov. 6

For the sake of clarity, here is another thread and I mean Saturday even if that is not the 6th.

Not sure what I am doing, but I may tag along.

I think there is a cruiser run up this way, but I have to check again. Maybe Kelly Flats.

I suppose I'd be up for something close. Carnage or Lefthand are on the tip of my tongue, but something else would be good too.

What kind of rig do you have and do you have a prefernece?

If no one else posts in this thread by Wednesday, I am going with the Cruisers.

I have a couple lockers, gears and etc. I am not looking for something super tough, but I am looking for something in this area, as in north of Denver. I have not done any trails in this area except Gillespie Gulch last weekend.

Thanks Brian, those look good.

I am worried about water crossings since I have an open intake and am really leary of taking out the new engine.

We got snow Sunday night in the foothills, but not too low.

Schaefer, I am shooting for my 3rd new trail in 3 weeks of CO residency. It is no Martinez, but I have had fun so far.

I checked CO4x4 and the trip last week said 3 inches of snow on Coney Flats and St. Vrain.

Whichever.

Anyone else have a voice?

I am working on the house this weekend but may be able to duck out for a "short" run. Keep me posted on what the plan is. I promise, RR this time.

There is a good loop up Lefthand Canyon/Carnage Canyon area about a 2.5 hour trip that I know well.

I havn't done Carnage before because I didn't have sliders, but now that I remedied that problem i'm game for it, and we can always do it at the start or end of the loop.

Brian has suggested Moody Hill and Crystal Mountain. I am down for that and Brent said he might come along.

I will continue in this assumption until someone bails or no one else jumps in for a time and place to meet on Saturday. I would like to know by the end of the day tomorrow what the scoop is.

As for stuff in the area, I liked what you mentioned.

Getting down to Boulder there is Carnage, Lefthand and Gillespie Gulch. I would do Carnage and I did Gillespie Gulch last weekend, so...

How about Carnage? That is going to take at least one locker, but you and Doug have rear's, right?

I like the sound of that also.

Lefthand Canyon and Carnage are pretty much the same trail area.

A good meeting place might be Gateway park on Hwy 36 and Broadway here in Boulder, it's about ten minutes from the trailhead and a good place to air down.

As for a meeting time between 12:00 and 1:00 would give us plenty of time to run the trail before dark hits.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, there was a lot of signage up that way near Gillespie Gulch last weekend.

I guess I will catch y'all later and hit up the cruisers.

Peace,
Adrian

Well, now the cruisers won't take me, so I am looking for people and trails again.

Any ideas?

Well I am still going wheeling on Saturday with a couple of Crusiers down here.

There a plenty of trails to choose from down here. We are probably going between 12-2. If any of you guys are interested let me know and I can make a concret plan and pick a trail, or look on www.4x4trails.net and click on Boulder County.
