Colorado: Shake and Bake with Cheese, Oct. 21

Who: Colorado people who like wheeling

What: Go do an easy trail in Northern Colorado that should be scenic and fun

Where: Crystal Mountain and Moody Hill

When: Saturday, Oct. 21

Why: Because I have not been out wheeling my own rig in more than a year, because I need to shake it down a little, because I need it to be pretty quick and close to home, and because I want to see some familiar faces again.

To recap, light wheeling Oct. 21st on Crystal Mountain and Moody Hill. We will meet in Masonville at 10 a.m., then head to the trail for air down, then proceed to wheeling.

Bring yourself, a 4wd truck, lunch for the trail, whatever else you need to be comfortable and have fun.

There is a store in Masonville, a general store that is easy to find. It is at a T intersection. Look for my truck at the corner. My cell has been posted, ask for it if you need it.

Well look what the cat dragged in? I will get some directions to throw up here. I have to check that myself.

DD, hope your son has a good game. If you are up in the FTC, I have a red Runner on MT/R's with a large, hairy man behind the wheel.

Sounds good dude, looking forward to meeting you. Levi and I are going to blast through quickly tommorrow after work just to re-check.

Still working on directions, though I do now remember how to get to Masonville.

First post edited with directions to the meeting place.

If you know how to get to the store in Masonville, please meet there at 10.

I am trying to get my shaft back in time, may be a 2wd trip.

I will be there. The store is easy to find, its like the only thing of note in the town.

i am really looking forward to this. Should be a good time. Might bring a buddy to ride along, he's never really been wheeling, and he's a fun guy. We'll see.

This will be fun. This is a great trail, really scenic.

To reiterate:

Everyone is welcome, this should be a fun time.

The one trail leads up to a short hike on a scenic vista that is really breathtaking.

There are some mild obstacles, some fun baja roads and a lot of good country between. If Isaac is there, he will be the leader. If not, I am not sure what I will do. Still trying to get my CB together for the trip.

Crux, it would be great to see you.

Ric, this is a formal invite. I would really like to wheel with you on a trail that I know you have done and is a lot of good, clean fun.

I'm tryin to get Mike to go with his new 4runner. The title problems are depressing him though. He also needs to build his bumpers before he goes.

I am a relatively new member of YT... as for contributing that is. Have been lurking for a while but would like to get more involved. I havnt really wheeled with the YT crew...only those that are in Rising Sun. Thought Saturday might be a good time to start. Look forward to meeting some of you that have non-cruiser Toys. Of course i love cruisers too. I did own one for a couple years, but this is obviously the place to be with an '85 runner ... my current rig. Heres a pic so you know what to look for Saturday if I can make it out. I would really like to so I hope to see you guys then.

I may be able to go. Have to see whats going on. May bring the Jeep out this trip, the truck went on Coney Flats/Middle Saint Vrain this past weekend. I know the trail pretty well, and can lead if need be.

Chongo, come on out.

David, bring either rig, no worries. We will probably make a little fun of you if you don't get after that quarry with the Jeep though.

Still no response from Ric. I believe in quality over quantity, so if you know you are going to be out every weekend, why not come out with us?

Driveshaft is still MIA.

If I have a shaft, I will wheel.

If I don't, I will bring the truck and ride. Oh well, I'd like to see some of y'all.

Found out my ARB line talks really loudly to me oilpan. Bummer.

See the perfect circle above the fitting near the oil pan?

could you find a 90degree bulkhead fitting for that? it might be difficult due to BSP.

Cheese, Crissy has bailed due to the cold front on saturday so if you need a seat I have one.

Im trying to figure out if I can swing this with other commitments Saturday late afternoon. Any idea how long this trail ride will be? (Barring unforseen circumstances of course)
